No offense to Alex, but since books can cost 30 mil or more these days and I have 18 pets to read to, is there any way we can get a real library where I could check out a single book to read to all my pets and then return it by the due date? Just wishing...
I would prefer something like the Art Museum - a library where we could read short stories, chapters of books, do crosswords or colouring books, etc. Kind of like what we can already do with the [item=Ziara: A History Through Headlines]
I know this would take a lot of work and it's basically pointless but let me dream k
Books wouldn't be 30m if there was no point in owning them. There's tons of cheap ones, the expensive ones are just collectors to have something to do.
People are going to say no to this because it would essentially make the virtual books here worthless. What's the point of buying them (apart from just owning them to put in a gallery if you think it's neat or treasure chests) if you can just read them to the pet and get free intelligence/alchemy points and the achievement that way? It would just make things way too easy.
I'm offended anyway

I could maybe see this if it were only a specific set of new books. Not every 30m book should just be readable for free just because you went to the library, especially not to as many pets as you want.
Or maybe one of those "take a book, leave a book" things. For every book you turn in, you can take one book out (again with a new set of books).
yespls, more lore is best
they/them/theirs, please.
That is actually adorable. I've always loved "free libraries" and I leave books at my local ones fairly often. It would be cute if it worked kind of like the donation center, so you could browse books that users decided to donate (maybe with an occasional expensive donation from NPCs like Alexander or the Wizard) and you could take one a day but only if you've donated a book that day as well.
Probably kinda pointless but now I really like the idea haha.
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸Libraries didn't used to be free, and they were real libraries. To simulate this, each pet has to buy an expensive monthly membership and has to read the book there, which takes time due to limited hours in the reading room. The amount you pay limits the rarity of what you can read, and if you want something higher than a certain rarity you need to wait a much longer time for interlibrary loan in addition to paying the outrageous fee.

I was having trouble figuring out my wording this morning but I was kind of thinking like, a new set of books comes out and if you turn a book in, then you can take one of those choices. Because it would all probably just turn into a bunch of cheap books being passed around if you can only choose from what other users have donated. But I like the once per day idea also, it would be kind of like minion bonding only with a book instead and you have to turn a book in before you can get yours (still just regular books though, aka one use).
I don't support this in any form, sorry.
The "library" idea is kind of pointless. You buy a book, your pet reads it, end of story. You are already making your own library just by reading to your pets.
I like the book exchange idea - but it should be rarity limited.
