Hello!

I suddenly got the urge to try experimenting with digital art and wanted to purchase a graphic tablet for myself. With so many great artists on subeta I was hoping someone would have experience working with these tablets and be able to give me advice on which tablet would be the best for its price, or provide any other suggestions. I'm having a hard time deciding which to invest in.

Honestly, if you're looking for a starter tablet, I personally suggest Huion brand. Wacom is well known, sure, but Huion has comparable quality for less than half the price in most cases. For the same price as the small Intuos Draw ($70) and less than the small Intuos Art ($100), you can get a Huion H610 (the tablet i personally use, $70), which has size and specs comparable to the large Wacom Intuos Pro ($500). Like it's seriously worth looking into. I switched to them after having two different Wacom tablets start electrical fires and I've never really had any issues.

As far as the original question you asked, the difference between the two is that the Intuos Art is touch sensitive, While the Intuos Draw only responds to the pen. In the past, I've found that the touch feature is more of a novelty than anything? I never used it on the tablet I owned that had it.

But yeah, this comes from like 11 years of tablet usage between 9 tablets (6 Wacom, 3 off brand)? And let me tell you, with the exception of the old school Wacom Bamboo tablets, the cheap knock-off ones outlasted the name brand ones every time. I've never had an older Bamboo die on me though, so if you can get one of those, it's worth it.

Thanks for your recommendation! Today on Amazon the Huion H610 Pro was on a lighting deal for $55 and I went for it. Hopefully I can figure out how to create some cool art pieces with it, and enjoy using it.

Sounds like you lucked out like I did! That was about how much I paid for mine like...a year or so ago? This thing is a beast and I absolutely do not regret buying it, so hopefully you'll like it as much as I do!

Also, to save you time later, this link has the most recent drivers for it. That's the biggest issue I've had with mine yet, so hopefully that'll solve any issues you may have installing it.

And if you need any help figuring it out or programming the buttons or anything involving the tablet, just let me know!

It helps that you don't have to unlearn habits from a Wacom tablet like I did. Made it soooo much easier to get into. I'm glad you like it though!

i see you already got your tablet and i hope you're having fun with it haha just passing by to say that wacom tablets are worth buying if you ever get tired of yours, i work with a 4 years old wacom bamboo pen and it never failed me before! sure, the screen looks ugly and is kind of scratched over years of use but it still works like its new!!! if i had to buy a new tablet, im sure it would be a wacom one ahahaha
