I feel silly asking this having been on the site so long, but I can't seem to figure it out. I see a lot of avatars where the human is gone altogether, and it is just a picture like a painting or sometimes has a companion on it, but there is no human on it whatsoever. I know about layering in the wardrobe, but either I don't have the right items to cover my base completely or I just don't understand how to layer things correctly. Any help is appreciated.
(If there is an extant thread for this, I am happy to be directed there. I tried searching, but didn't find anything yet that helps me do what I'd like to do.)
I'm not sure where you're having trouble. If you add a background to your avatar it's automatically on a layer above your base layer anyway. Do you mean people using [item2=vanishing cream]? That covers the whole space with white.
There are older backgrounds like the one you're using that have a cut-out for the avatar base and new backgrounds like , or which don't have this cut-out. If you're using one of these newer backgrounds and layer it above your base it completely covers the base.
, not quite! Sorry to be confusing. I have the vanishing cream that I use for helping to smooth out if I have something on that is going "outside the lines"! :D
, oh. That explains it! XD Maybe when I was trying earlier I kept using things that have the human avatar without realizing it and so it was never working when I put it above my base! I just tried with one that has no cutout and now it work! Thank you so much!
Thank you both!
Ohh, I should have realised that was the problem xD At least now you know :)
