This is just meant to be a fun topic. I'm probably not the only one who has questions which will never be answered about the world of Subeta. What have other people wondered? Here are a few of my own questions.

  1. Who is Aunt Bindy who makes jam for the Carnival Stand?

  2. Shadowglen has a coast. Do the zombies have their equivalent of Delphi Beach?

  3. Zombie cooking ingredients include bits of human bodies. Where do they get these bits from? (I don't think I want to know the answer to this one.)

  4. Centropolis has cars. Is this the only place on Subeta where cars are used?

  5. There are what look to be two police cars in Centropolis. Where is the police force located and what kind of criminals do the police go after?

I once thought about Aunt Bindie, too and tried to imagine what she would look like.

Another question I have is how Subeta survives without a variety of pasta. We have those weird Feli spaghettis but other than that...a sad noodle-less life.

  1. How people are going to Atebus if there's no space station?

  2. Are NPC never sleeps?!

  3. How can the pets use a weapon that supposed to weight more than them? and how the can they actually hold them when most of the species doesn't have fingers!!

But if we have poo and snot and vomit food for our "misguided" (aka not brains-focused) zombie fellows why can't there be pasta for those of us living people lacking in taste, ?

I imagine Atebus not so much being a moon as being a small body trapped wicked close to Subeta. So, you'd take up one of those dirigibles that they love, and, just as it hits the point of falling, just escaping the gravity of Subeta, somethingsomethingsteampower, it gets picked up by the pull of Atebus. The cabin rotates around the gas bag, falls towards the moon, done. (or space elevator)

As for mine, why do some of you eat dark matter alive? Distressing! D:

Mostly kidding aside, let's see if I can write this and make sense...

Why are their 'animal-type pets' and 'people-type pets' (not user characters, but NPCs). There are ones like scratchcard girl Meli; she's a 'people-type' malticorn. Or, once-gave-quests Melman who is a 'people-type' kanis. (he also got to age, which a LOT of npcs never get to do. heh.) And, we also have Morty King (one of my favorite guys! I want him back in my vault!) and he's not quite 'people.' Or, how Melody has/d an anyu, but then there's also loving couple/family Babette, Angrybeard, and their new kids. (although, I'd love it if her anyu was like them) Also, not quite 'people.'

So, is it like the Khajiit where, depending on the moon (if I'm remembering this correctly) they're either, humanoid, small cats, werecats or some other body type? ha!

It makes the 'pedia descriptions about their breeding seasons and stuff more uncomfortable when they're also basically people. But, I do love the 'people-type' quite a bit; very cute! I also know that they're hold overs from the site having existed for over a decade, but I'm wondering if that'll be addressed lore-wise, or if it has already. Was it Maleria's 'corrupting' influence?

i also wonder about the anthro pet npcs as well as where on the spectrum of sapience pets are supposed to fall... i mean i know it's up to user interpretation of course and it is a game, after all, so not everything is logically consistent for the sake of separation of story and gameplay, but like. pets can read and talk (when they respond to food, for example) and fight with weapons - also thinking about the size differences; for example, a popoko is about the size of an earth squirrel, so how is this little critter wielding a battleaxe that, when worn on the avatar, is bigger than a human? yet in their subetapedia articles they're referred to as if they are animals of, well, animal intelligence, with animal behaviors.

and don't get me started on anthro npcs, like, what's up with that, what is this society like where wildlife, companion animals, and humanoid beings with jobs and homes and marriages are all the same species? it's certainly interesting to think about.

ALSO what determines the difference between a pet and a minion? it's not size obviously, as we have the parakeet-sized lain and the 10-story-tall telerok (incidentally a relative of the telenine so why is it a minion and not a pet). and i mean of course, out-of-universe it again translates into "these are the kinds of pets people want to have but also here are some cute critters that are not pets but you can GIVE one to your pet because, idk, neopets did petpets i guess" but in-universe, what is the distinction? they're all animals that can be kept as companions; minions are often described as though you the player, a human, are its owner even though they are actually given to pets to be, well, your pet's pet.

idk there are lots of things to wonder about for sure.

I must add, Saggi as a challenger, this guy is beating pets for fun, with his big heavy sword.. it is a pet's cruelty.

Where is SuPETA to protest against him?!

Like really, there must be an organization that it's against owning pets and their agenda is to release all of them to the wild and they are against battles or something like that.. oh plot idea! xD

Subeta has soap, toothpaste and bath sponges but no baths, showers, washbasins, sinks or washing machines. Do the inhabitants have to bath and wash their clothes in the rivers? I suppose they can now go to the bathhouse on Shengui Guo bit it's still a long journey.

Then there's the cookware. How do people cook when there are no cookers with ovens for baking?

With the pets/humans/anthro pets I'm leaning towards the idea that the npc pets are just well-learned pets, or pets who just grew up with a lot of speech around them, and they wear clothes. I don't really think of my pets as animals I own though, they're more like... room-mates? Adopted kids for the 'younger' ones? My long term pets are more like travel companions. Subetapedia describes the habits, behaviours and capabilities of the species before they are adopted and taught things/learn how to be more 'human'. Though there are many flaws with this idea, like all the others - why do Babette and Angrybeard have opposable thumbs, but normal Anyus do not? If pets are capable of speech and reading, why does it take living with a human to bring that out? If I don't treat my Neela like a sentient being, will he just be a pack beast, never learning to speak - is he mad that I make him fight while I do nothing? Why can I make my sentient pets eat vomit, flesh and poison? So many questions, lots of them silly - I'm having a great time trying to answer them.

Also, I was going to post a topic about this, but this thread is just as appropriate - are we making Mono Ri's condition worse by doing quests for both 'halves' of her? I feel guilty whenever I am playing a bit later in the day one day so Nori is out (Australia, 12 hour time difference) but then the next day I'm on early so I'm helping Mori. I've gotten to the point where I refuse to do my cursed quests until morning Subeta time so I only ever help Nori. I think Mori is cooler, but I don't think Maleria needs any more help - I checked her Subetapedia article the other day, to see if she was actually evil or just a nuisance (Shinwa seems to mostly fight 'evil' characters who really just cause a bit of mischief??) - yeah, she's actually pretty evil, even if it does sound like it's mostly dark matter/black magic possessing her mind.

Also, the Oracle's entry states how much she loves the sacred lands and would never want to leave, but if the Maleria/Shinwa situation were ever resolved, would she be forced to return to her people, even if she didn't want to? That event and the events leading up to it would be the plot to end all plots.

I've been thinking about the anthro pets and it could be explained by evolution in a world where there's magic. For example, ordinary Anyus and the anthro versions have a common ancestor - one branch of descendants evolved into ordinary Anyus while the other evolved into the Anthro versions. The same would apply to any other pet species with an anthro version.

Something else I'm wondering. Alexander is reading a book. Do the books he reads vanish when he's finished with them?
