Hey , I'd like to take a stab at this. :) Been a while since I've critiqued avatars, also my style is sort of outdated, but hopefully this helps. Also keep in mind that if an avatar struggles on SF, it doesn't mean that it's a bad avatar - there's certain trends that are popular, others not as much.

First thing I noticed that the greens are slightly off, at least on my monitor. The hair is slightly on the blue-green-grey side while the jacket is straight dark green and the pants are even darker than the jacket. I mean in real life people don't match their clothes crazily but for subetan "fashion" matching is super important imo. I think that maybe it's good to pick out one olive shade and focus on it. Though honestly i don't know if olive is a good color since you have green skin on, the jacket kind of blends in hahah. IMO it's good to either choose colors that "pop" or just make the avatar blend into the clothes entirely such as 's current top 5 avatar. OMBRE/GRADIENT is a cool thing to do too if you'd like to try it!!

I also think there needs to be more black on your avatar, perhaps under the golden bits of the chest. (Side note: I think your gold distribution is on-point.) The gloves are an attempt but since they're sheer, they don't fit in very well. I also noticed that there was something around the neck area that was black but idk what it was. Whatever it is though, it sticks out of the shoulder area, which isnt all too appealing (if ur picky like i am). It would look better on top of the jacket I think. That or put something on the shoulders!

First and foremost I agree with what Michelle said. I think the matching is a leeettle bit off in the olives and that throws the avatar. If my colour matches aren't so close, I do my best to conceal 'em and keep them separate to preserve the illusion of matching. With so many greens on show, so close together, it becomes obvious that they aren't the same. I think it might need a bit more contrast across the board; don't be scared to add another colour and balance it with only one or two accents that pop.

I'm a tad confused by the chest area at the moment, I think you could streamline it with one simple shirt and the gold necklaces. The head area is quite detailed with the horns and ponytail; unless you're going for a specific look, I think it's better to keep one or two areas less busy so you don't overwhelm the space. The face and head have so much personality that it'd be a great feature to highlight imo! There's also a jolt of silver from the belt there and that's throwing me off a tad. Either go with a simple black or something with a dash of gold, like the Colonial Belt.

Overall I think you've made a great attempt. You're definitely selling the mischievous character of the HA right now with the fog and foreground, he's giving me little swamp demon boy.

I've added a black jacket instead of the olive one so that it matched more, and changed the pants so that there wasn't that little bit of silver o3o Is that any better?

I would really appreciate a critique of my current avatar. I keep messing around with the hair but can never come to a final decision and I'm really unsure about the Back Rack Antlers...

I'd certainly appreciate help, because I am so.... Iffy about this avatar, honestly.XD Give me your worst. I did certainly try to bring some of the purple from the sash and chest plate into the hair.XP Especially since I feel I'm in no place to help anyone else, lawl.

i definitely think it looks tons better. the skin tone change is pretty refreshing too although now it makes the detailing of the chest less prominent. i'd still recommend putting something (maybe green) under the necklaces. in addition another waist accessory would look great too, cause the gold circle there seems sorta random!

yeah I think the back rack antlers don't fit in too well either. it makes the avatar way too busy imo, causing less focus on the detailing going on the chest (which i like). For hair I think a longer style would look nice although it would make the avatar seem more feminine? which i'm not sure you want. sorry i'm pretty useless when it comes to masculine hair/avatars in general T_T besides that I think you've done great work in terms of the colors which I rarely see together. though not sure if gloves are necessary.

i really like where this is going!!i would say that it's fine as-is if you're looking to make the horns stand out. personally I would try to bring in the black more though, but that's what most people seem to be doing so IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU'RE GOING FOR really. The background I don't like too much though esp the colored fabric drapy things because my eyes are drawn to them and not really your avatar hahha.

I was actually hella iffy about the BGs, and while they fit the theme, I... Generally dislike them.XD But that does make me feel better that this is at least going in a good direction! Now to just make little detail touch-ups.

I thought the Back Rack Antlers might look nice paired with the Grim Decorative Antler, but they really did make it too busy/unbalanced. IDK man, this is my first male avatar so your guess is as good as mine! I changed the hair to a longer style and I like the way the bangs over the eye make the face look. I'm torn between keeping the gloves and swapping them for a bracelet.

- I really like the outfit, with the rich colors and blend of patterns. Definitely gloves over bracelet imo. But I think the hair doesn't fit with the antlers; the raised partly-pulled-back-partly-brushed-forward messy bangs make the antlers not look like they naturally fit on the head. Also I think the face needs to be completely reworked because the gaping mouth and narrow eyes just looks weird.

I friggin' love your avatar so much. I don't know, I like the hair and horns look. And I actually feel like the face suits the whole look too. But, that's just my opinion. I know it's hard to find features that are more masculine when you're used to doing female avatars. I've had the struggle!

The hair is precisely the thing that has been giving me so much trouble. Finding a wig for a male avatar that works with the horns and matches the colors I'm using is... difficult. If you have any recommendations I'm all ears. ;-;

As for the face, I was aiming for a devious look. There aren't a lot of male/unisex mouths that work for that. (There aren't a lot of male/unisex mouths in the first place. Haha.) Honestly, I think it makes the avatar look like he's amused or in the middle of talking? shrug

You're welcome :) I haven't made a 'man-tar' in so long. It is a challenge every time, but I do love using a lot of items I wouldn't generally use.

- for male hair with a more even front, just looking at the salon (if you wanted to keep the dye) there's Cer, Sacred Male, Delish Year, Vow (maybe; the bangs stick up a bit). As for the face, yeah, making male expressive faces is not easy on Subeta... My go-to not-obviously-feminine mouths are blank and the little smiles and frowns. But I'm really picky about faces so if you're happy with it, I don't mean to, like, tell you not to work in your style.

Critique is critique ... you were just trying to help! I need it ... a lot, and take some of it, others I leave! x)

Eh, I don't take critique personally. I asked for it, after all. I really am thankful that you took the time to give me some input! I'm probably not going to change the hair, but it's not because I don't appreciate your advice. I just don't want to deal with the salon again for a bit. With the old salon, you could change your hair and keep the colors you were using. Now if you want to alter something you've already done, you have to start all over again. Not to mention the lack of hex code input. I pick colors out of my outfit for my hair and with the color dropper I just have to approximate and click around until I get close to the right hex code. I haaate it.

- yeah haha that is totally fair; i swear, whoever was responsible for the new wardrobe either never makes HAs or just doesn't give a shit because it's been approximately forever since anyone's worked on that... the salon is currently total garbage.

Well according to Keith, due to the way the wardrobe/salon is set up, he couldn't have both hex code input and a color picker, so he chose the color picker. Because hex is too complicated for the average user? I don't agree with that and I really think that he's really underestimating people's ability to, you know, Google shit. But don't worry, because he's doing another wardrobe recode! :D
