I have been on hiatus for a while and it seems that a lot of Tier 11 & 12 have been released.
It seems that most God Weapons have equivalents now. If so what are the new top "God Weapons"? Have any been made more or less redundant because of their cheap counterparts?
Feels like the only difference are the blessings ... are the blessings even worth the mark up? I've listed the ones I know below according to what they block (and yes, am aware that icons dealt should also be taken into consideration).
Thoughts?
What are the most useful (if SP was not an issue)?
Physical Blocker
Light Block
Earth Block
Air Block
Dark Block
Dark & Earth Block
Physical & Light
Ice Block
Water Block
Magma Block
Fire Block
Misc.
Just a heads up that The Ether is our physical blocker and Natasha is a fire blocker. The Blessed Trident of the Banished One is an equivalent wind blocker, too.
Moving down the tiers a tad, the Possessed Bow is a fire blocker, which compensates its slightly lower damage range with a change to curse and freeze. Similarly, the Dark Goddess Rod blocks light, Ornamented Hook Swords block earth, Item Hunters Whip blocks magma (though no heal, so I wouldn't call it an equivalent). I've seen use from the Tempestuous Bladed Gauntlet, which blocks water and light, and the Unstable Sample Syringe, which blocks magma and ice, in high tier battles, too. The Malhuili from the latest plot scales along the top tiers and defends against light and ice.
For high tiers, I think that's everything. :) There's obviously more options as you go down the tiers, but even with a 'full' block you tend to lose the healing along the way, which makes them poor equivalents.
The main thing that separates each weapon is damage range and the heal; while god weapons heal 10%, stuff on lower tiers typically heals anywhere from 6 - 9% and caps at a lower percentage when you hit the healing cap (10k HP). The multi-blockers, which we're seeing more of, are far more situational than full blocks of course and tend to have less utility on a wider scale.
Outside of that, the main thing that determines price is rarity and prestige, far more than utility imo. A wind blocker is probably the first pick I'd recommend given how common it is in high tiers and how cheap the Swashbuckle and Trident run; but on the other hand, I never felt the need to buy an Ether in the years before I won my Ancestral Unrest. Physical is such an uncommon icon to see in high quantities that it would have been a waste of cash, despite being one of the cheaper gods.
The cheaper options tend to be just as good providing they go toe-to-toe with heals and blocks. I've carried a Possessed Bow for years as it was significantly cheaper than a Natasha at the time yet have never felt the need to upgrade as my pet has grown. It has a couple of weak spots but the full block shines regardless and carries you through most battles, while the clutch freeze can prove decisive in a pinch. So nah, most don't tend to be worth the price hike.
(k this was a lot /thoughts)
This is awesome.
I couldn't believe what the antique shop priced 2 god weapons. I am just trying to understand what else aside from the prestige. Ah Ancestral Unrest - does it have that 50% heal blessing? How often is it triggered?
Yeah, their price is solely there to preserve their prestige... but the act of making them constantly available takes away from that immediately, it's a funny one. As weapons, they're no better than their equivalents. They were also in the first batch of items added to the Antique Shop so the kinks were still being worked out, really, and they ended at the top end of the price range.
I'd say the heal is around 1 - 2% chance of happening but tbh I'm generally unobservant these days when I battle. Algebra is big enough to tank most challengers and not worry about wider tactics. It's a great weapon but again, not worth the affixed price tag (pretty sure it runs over a billion). Anything you need it to do can be done by The Ether for a lower price tag.
Ah right, I was wondering about the heal rate of he AU. Interesting how it has now gone over a billion! I thought 75 were released?
Honestly, after a quick search, it looks like they've went from anywhere between 300 million to 1.2 billion haha. The pricing is always quite erratic on here! I think you'd struggle to find it below 500m these days. But yeah, there were 75 released.
Check out the price of Natasha, 750 Million!
thanks forgot to repond >_< hope you are having fun battling the new challengers!!
:) haha not bad.
i wouldn't peg AU as a physical/light block. its a physical block and a minor block of either dark or light randomly, aka not reliable for light defense.
Trident id say is much better than swashbuckle as it comes with a better curse and an amazing blessing...

Although I prefer the trident to swash, when I think god weapon I think high element block and at least 10% heal. Trident is definitely another good wind blocker because of its blessing just like ohs is a great alternative to ostaff but I would consider them semi-godlies. I wish more of these weapons and weapons like the bladed gauntlet were put into circulation. With opponents doing high damage in at least two elements with the potential of an additional two elements, having more reasonably priced weapons that block 40 of two icons instead of 90+ of one icon sounds like a good idea to me for most enemies.
I have to agree with Wesker. There need to be more high tier, decently priced weapons in circulation. I get that some weapons need to be special, blah blah blah, but there aren't enough two-icon weapons out there available to be purchased. And there are very few weapons for tier 12. How about some more useful, interesting weapons that are under a billion?
I again, agree with and . We need more, higher tiered weapons, in circulation.
Having to spend so much time, energy and sP into building a strong pet, the last thing I want to to do is then spend a few bil on a semi-decent set. Right now my t11's set cost roughly 1b, and thats the lower end of things. I'd like to see as mentioned some dual duty blockers. Two 40+ icon block weapons could be so useful, and imo shouldn't cost too much, while making them 'semi-godly'. I understand that some god weapons should be expensive, not everybody can have, but even with the semi's we have now, they are still vastly overpriced. Pblades and Swash are the only 'affordable' weapons at t11+, discounting ballista, extendable trident and glacial ring due to underperforming/unreliable.
I would love, love, loveeee to see some weapons in the 100-250m range, t11+ that blocked 40 of two icons with a 8-10%. Even if this means lesser cursing/blessings, that can be fixed by other means.
Do we consider scrolls 'Godly' or 'Semi-Godly'????
given that considering something "godly" is an opinion does it matter? :P
and extendable trident is good if you have 3000k+ atk, def and speed. its just not as universal as PBB.
personally i consider anything with a 70+ block or 2 35+ blocks, a 7+ heal and damages "godly"
OHS healing slightly less and blocking slightly less in no means undermines its usefulness when you need to block earth. getting picky about labels seems silly to me.
personally my spread is: dark=core light=Malhuili phy=AU fire=natasha magma=cronos earth=OHS wind=trident water=MW ice=Malhuili+unstable scroll
I'll get a true light blocker when i hit t13, no hurry, and i dont have 5 bill to spend on a true ice blocker... that combo works just fine, hell the scroll alone generally does all i need.

This is true :P I agree with you 100% on the OHS, they are the best earth blockers that are easily attainable. However I still think 450 for them is well overpriced.
Your spread is like 5b? And while not the most difficult items to obtain, you still would be find a hard time getting your hands on them (For a decent price that is) Take the trident, its like 400ish? Give or take, and imo not worth it. Swash is the next best thing, doing almost the same with lesser curse/bless and 1/4 of the price, granted swash isn't tiered, but even tridents best is on par with swash.
The only other 80+ icon block under 200m is DGR, which I think is actually great for its price (150-250?) IHW isn't worth mentioning due to the nature of its attack, with no heal.
My problem with gods, and demi's would basically narrow it down to the fact they are so unavaliable, and users can set the price. There are only 40 tier10+ weapons, and that is a really big problem considering imo 28 of those are either godly, or demi.
There is a severe lack of variety in top level battling, and when they do bring new weapons into this bracket they are not exactly easy to obtain. idk if thats what they like, but idk.
personally I'm not convinced thats actually a problem. i can earn 400m in 2 months easily, and 2 months for an end game weapon in my opinion is fair. just do all the quests every day and sell the items. not some big mystery.
your options being be OP enough to not need specific blocks or earn the money is in my opinion fair. a near tier 13 can do all the BQS with nothing but a PBB, syringe and aftershocks, all of which are enemy loot. (well i suppose prodigy might give me issues with that setup, would have to test it...)

450 for the OHS doesn't seem overpriced to me, especially considering how easy it is to make sp. I don't think I've seen a trident sell for 400 before. They're usually closer to the 300 - 350 mil mark. which, again, doesn't strike me as overpriced. I think the problem with getting more "decently priced weapons" out there is that the 'decently priced' part is completely subjective. also: weapons you can earn > weapons you can buy. just throwin' that out there while we're on the topic of being subjective. ;)
dual icon blocks are excellent but they're still a relatively new thing (new-ish, going by subeta time™ , anyway) but I think (hope?) we'll see more of them in the future.
I like the idea of how the unstable syringe was created and released. It has enough block, heal, and attack to make it well balanced. It's also released by a challenger that not everyone can beat so you either get your pet to the point where it's strong enough for the weapon to be obtained or you flat out buy it for a reasonable amount of sP since not many are in circulation. They should release more weapons this way. Instead of an event where only 20 are put into circulation, make a high end impossible challenger where the 5th drop is a solid T11 weapon. The alternative would be releasing through the mc at a fixed price of a few hundred million so the prices could never inflate.
One thing that bothers me is I know not everyone can have a god weapon, but at least make more decent alternatives so that the only option isn't to borrow a god weapon. For example, look at the sierrac flail. It's actually a really good affordable water and ice blocker at 5k speed. However, by the time you reach stats where you would have 5k speed, you will be strong enough to win one of the best options, mw, and won't need the flail. In my opinion, making it the most useful at 5k stats is pointless when you could just get the better option.
Some more weapon options worth adding to the list. Some mentioned already, some not so good, but there aren't many weapons with high single element defence so it's what we've got. :p
