I am curious how many people I can get interested in a somewhat lengthy RP event. Here's some of the details I have planned:

[li]Involves 8 different realms, each realm will come with it's own challenges and "bosses". Some items/boons will be given out at random to each team, depending on choices made throughout each realm will depend on what boss you end up fighting.

[li]Looking for teams of 5-6, each team will basically be in an alternate universe. Each team's story will progress at their own pace.

[li]Each team will be interacting with a different NPC of mine who will be serving as a guide. Each NPC will react differently.

Think of it like a DnD adventure with no dice rolls and a bit of a guided hand with my rainbow of characters/NPCs.

Here's a bit of a look into the setting:

You're brought to the tavern at the edge of the worlds, there you are greeted by the main guide and a barkeep who usually knows far too much but it hard to understand at times. From there you will be sent off to the main realm of Arcea which is set in a Medieval fantasy setting. Once there your team will have to decide how to proceed in saving Arcea. But be warned it will involve going to 6 other realms withe different settings: -Arctic & Ice mountains (Northrend if you play WoW) -Futuristic Tech City (think I, Robot or Minority Report) -Fire pits & the underground (Hell in a sense) -Forgotten forestlands/jungle (think Avatar) -Skylands (Floating islands) -Swamplands (Let's just say there won't be much travel on foot... yeah... )

SO IT BEGINS....

You find yourself suddenly shrouded in a thick fog. As the mist envelops you there's a faint sound of a voice calling out your name, but it seems distant and distorted. A moment passes and the thick shroud clears, leaving you standing in the middle of a new location. It would seem that you've been transported to an old tavern, windows are dark and dusty but the floor and rickety wooden tables are clean. There's a bright fire in the hearth that seems somewhat... welcoming almost. There are two figures in front of you, the barkeep nods to you before she turns to fix a drink while a white cloaked elf turns in his seat with a grin on his face.

"Welcome to the tavern at the edge of the worlds!" The young man with brightly golden eyes jumps out of his seat to greet you. "Your colleagues will be here shortly, it would seem that I am in dire need of your help."

Before the elf has another second to speak he's interrupted by the barkeep as she takes off her pirate hat and scratches her long rabbit ears. "Oi! Kohkru! Methinks ye better wait for the others t'git here before ye start blabberin' like a loose lipped drunkard. Then ye'll only hav'ta explain yerself once!" Her accent is thick and you're unable to figure out where she might hail from. Her sharp blue eye turns from the suddenly flabbergasted elf to you, "Can I be gettin' ye a drink while we wait? Don't ye worry, t'son the house!"

But anywho just curious how many would be interested in this type of thing and then when I have a better idea I'll decide if I need to make a forum group and use those forums or if we're gonna use the main RP boards.

One of the things with this RP is that your character can come from wherever you want and can be whatever you want. My NPCs will act accordingly, don't you worry. xD

I definitely want to say that I'm interested. I really like the concept!

I've been itching to try something DnD for quite some time now, but it's pretty hard to lock down a DM. I was an avid RPer back in the day, and of course, life, work, and the whole shebang decided they'd like much more attention from me. I think that was when I was back in high school!

I think a forum group might make things feel more organized? Especially if we've got several universes going on. However having it on the main forum might invigorate the RP forum and draw more interest? I think there's pros and cons for both routes...:)

Haha I know the feeling with life and work! xD Thank you for your interest! Been toying around with things and I might do it to where I can put character and world profiles in the forum group forums and possibly the main RP stuff on the main boards possibly.

Sadly I've only had one person other than yourself express interest. ;A; I might try asking around since at least if anything a group of 5 could get rolling and if more people want to rise to the challenge they probably can in another group later since it'll change depending on group choices.

Sorry to bother you, I was wondering if you by chance might either know RP based ping groups or possibly specific people who you know that are avid RPers who might be interested in this sort of thing? Haha thought I'd inquire with you since you've had some major success with NNN and WS. c: (This stuff is harder than I thought to get going)

You're no bother at all, sweetie! I think you belong to both Wayward Squirrel and Nutsy's? You could try any of the folks in there. Nutsy 3 is going up fairly soon, and it's a big "crazy wonderland" mystery this time, so you could always promote a bit there if you wish.

And yes, it is harder than you think to get going, but it's also much harder than that to keep it going. You seem to have a structure quite similar to WS, but you're trying for a much larger scope all in one go. Not trying to discourage you in any way, but that's a lot to manage all at once, and might also be a real endurance contest for the players. The number of dedicated RPG players on Subeta is limited, and even some of those are pressed for playing time.

You might want to try saving Arcea first, and then build interest to branch out. Either approach could work very well for you. As has pointed out, there are pros and cons to both.

Not sure if you're still looking to garner any interest in this idea, but I would definitely love to participate. It looks very fun, and I am trying to get myself back in to RPing.

Super delayed thank you for the input! I think I might just hold off doing this event on Subeta and save it for another time elsewhere. There just doesn't seem enough interest in something like this.

Thank you so much for the interest! Unfortunately aside from you I've only ever gotten word from 2 other who would be interested in taking part... So at the moment I think I'm going to hold off on doing this event and either save it for another time or do it elsewhere.
