I've recently gone back to the gym because I need to lose weight. About 100 lbs, actually. I've lost 4 lbs so far, but I'm getting tired of listening to the same songs every time. So where else would I go for advice but Subeta? XD

What do you work out to? Any suggestions would be welcome!

I usually listen to Pandora, then if it's not giving me anything good I'll switch to Youtube. Coheed and Cambria are one of my favorites for cardio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0H3RlaQVrM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRWjLLpwnOM

Really I find anything particularly moving emotionally, as long as it's not too slow, is good for getting through a workout.

I tend to work out to anything that is fast passed or just has a strong beat to it that keeps me moving and pumped up. Oddly enough any hard rock/metal/electronica really does the trick.

Ohhh, that's not an easy thing to do! D: I managed to lose around 120 or so pounds over the last year and a half, thanks mostly to my sister, so I know what it's like and I wish you all the luck~!

I mostly just put my ipod on shuffle and then skip half a hundred things. x'D I mostly listen upbeat songs and the kind that make me want to dance, they help with keeping me going, though there is also a Britney Spears song that really helps get me motivated too... But I'm not sure if I should suggest that one. >>;

HA, that's what I usually do, shuffle and skip. XD Major congrats to you for losing all that weight. I'll bet it feels awesome. May I ask how you did it? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but I'm always happy for more tips that worked for someone.

I'm pretty sure I have songs I haven't listened to in at least a year, because I'm always skipping them. xD Heh, thank you. ^^ It really does feel awesome, I never thought I'd be as small as I am now. And sure, that's fine. c:
Mainly what I did was completely change the way I eat, because my sister got really into researching about healthy eating and things, and she found out how bad a lot of the stuff we were eating was. Now we try to eat as much organic and unprocessed or packaged foods as possible, and we only get our meats and things from actual butchers instead of stores, and we avoid gluten and soy like the plague. We try to be really careful about what's in everything we buy, you know, nothing we don't recognize right away should be in it.

On top of that, I just started walking more and being more aware of how much I eat, which is what I think matters the most when trying to lose weight. We changed how we eat mostly for health reasons, and if it's possible I would suggest it for anyone with any kind of issues like that, but I know it can be hard for a lot of people to do too. I don't always eat perfectly the way I should - I like to treat myself occasionally, and I have a baking problem - but as long as I'm not over my calories for the day or doing it all the time, I think it's fine. I guess long post short, my main suggestions would be try to avoid a lot of extra, unnecessary ingredients and chemicals if you can, track your calories - I actually know a pretty good website/app for doing this, if you want - and make sure you got lots of protein, and stay away from gluten and soy.

Ahh, I wrote a lot and kinda hijacked your thread. ^^;; I'm really sorry about that!

Hi this is a super late response, but if you use spotify, my friend made a great half-marathon playlist! Her other playlists are also very good. A decent workout tracking app is fitocracy. I just redownloaded it if you want to be friends. Dance and yoga classes are very fun - your local community college may offer cheap beginners classes, which is what I used over the summer to take a modern dance class.

Wow, congrats on the loss!? I'm trying to build muscle/definition right now, so that's a very different process, but it's so difficult to eat well and be more active. Also there's nothing actually bad about gluten unless you're allergic/have Celiac's, so enjoy those baked goods for what they are!
