I don't know if a new world would be feasible or if anyone would support this idea but I thought a medieval world could be fun. Just some rough ideas of what could be there -
Clothing shop. Clothes are 12th/13th Century as interpreted by Hollywood Robin Hood and Pre-Raphaelite Arthurian. The clothing items could range from nobility to peasants with a suit of Lincoln Green for anyone who would like to be an outlaw.
Book shop. Titles adapted from real life medieval books and ranging from tales of knights' quests to herbal remedies etc. Maybe some could be drawn in the style of the Voynich Manuscript which is sold in the Trading Card Center - partly open to show an illuminated letter.
Food shop selling medieval food which can't be found anywhere else on the site - a dish of frumenty, original mince pie which had meat in it, flagons of ale and wine, pottage etc. (Pease pottage could have three varieties - hot, cold and nine days old.)
Craft shop which also sells craft supplies. Items include embroidery supplies, fleeces, spindles and distaffs for hand spinning, tapestries which are wearable backdrops.
This land wouldn't have a conventional vending machine. Instead, we visit an outlaw camp. The outlaws give us random items they've stolen in exchange for a couple of wizard tokens
Actually, I really like this idea - no idea if it would be possible or not, but I'm all for it :D :D

A whole world might be a bit much (why would it be so culturally behind the rest of subeta?), but we aren't half missing a load of proper medieval stuff. Particularly clothing. And I'm not just after the nice clean upper-class clothing (although I won't say no to the usual unflattering drapery and awkward hats; the layering opportunities are too good to pass up). I'm after all social levels of costume (the over and under dresses in the Alegarten stock are a nice start, but I need moar).
We can also have a lot of different animals used for food that are labeled as fish for excellently spurious reasons.
As well as bestiary books, we can also have a readable licence to crenellate.
And we totally need to have minions based on the various weird beasties that appear in manuscripts: 1 2 and a Bonnacon because lol.
I'm going to leave it there, because I'm just going to end up suggesting everything medieval that ever existed.
Aquamaniles, two-colour tiles, gothic architecture, subsistence farming...
I don't really know much about them, but how about a Renaissance Faire setting up in Peka Park for a while? I feel like it'd be more inkeeping with the mythology than one area randomly less advanced than the rest of the world.
How culturally advanced is Shengui Guo after it had been lost for centuries?
A Renaissance Faire could be fun as well if it stocked medieval themed stuff.
Love the idea ❤️
If we were to have a Renaissance Faire (I believe there's already an extensive suggestion thread on the subject somewhere), it couldn't be called that since medieval=/= renaissance. Plus, from what I've seen of 'ren faires', they play a bit fast and loose with accurate food and costume, which I'm not keen on. A "Subetan History Festival" might be a fair substitute.
I really like this idea because it could give us some background on the human population. We know Subeta was colonised by people from Earth and this is reflected by the fact that there are Earth language textbooks in the Book Nook. When did the different groups of colonists come over here?
Veta was settled by people from Germany etc. Maybe medieval people went to what is now Centropolis so they remember their history with a festival in Centropolis Lower West Side where the Green Project is. This would leave Peka Park free for the Peka-Boo festival. (On the other hand, I don't see why Peka Park couldn't be used for different festivals.)
Oh of course, I wouldn't want an exact Renaissance Faire. There has to be a Subetan spin on it! I think Shengui Guo demonstrates, however, the likelihood of these ideas being amalgamated into one entity and the references drawn from like sources. I think the site is good at keeping these ideas accurate as single entities, but then presenting them as a wider, encompassing package.
Sounds fun. c: It has potential.

. Good idea. If humans settled Subeta from different places and historical periods on Earth, medieval could cover Early Medieval to Late Medieval with influences from all over Europe. This would leave us free to mix and match clothing without having to worry about details such as a hennin (pointy woman's hat) or a wimple being right for a particular dress. The same for male clothing, of course.
Sounds like a good idea to me. Let's go for it.
The Faire concept is awesome and nope not opposed to the whole world or lands totally dedicated to that time frame either. A place that does not want to advance beyond what they have... I believe it.
I like the idea of a medieval/Renaissance/early Subetan history faire setting up in Peka Park (or maybe they could travel to different countries? "The History Faire has returned, and is set up in Riverside this year!, etc) during late spring or early summer: Just some seasonal shops, maybe some html5 games (a jousting type game, maybe archery or sheetaherding or something?)
There's lots of cool items that could come from this: all the stuff mentioned in OP is awesome! I'd personally love to see some illuminated manuscript items: both books and backdrop wears. So many nice looking clothing items (Brooches! Heavy embroidery! Dagged sleeves! the list goes on!). I'd also love gothic-style architecture items (miniature castle minion? background/foreground wears? books? ALL OF THE ABOVE?) and farming items (tools like plows, hoes, etc, and bags of seeds, animals??)
they/them/theirs, please.
I worry this risks being very similar to Meridell, and there is already concern that our lands are similar to neopets'
I wouldn't mind a temporary thing though, it makes more sense to me.
I didn't read the whole thread but, as always with these 'too much like Neopets' discussions, not everyone agrees.
One of the points raised in that discussion was Subeta still being too much like the real world in a lot of ways. The Subetapedia article about Centropolis makes it clear that humans from Earth settled on Subeta so it's only natural that they brought their home cultures/festivals with them. Over time, humans would have adopted some aspects of native Subetan cultures/festivals and vice versa. (Louis L'Amour, a native Subetan, obviously likes the idea of Valentine's Day so is keeping romance alive.)
I think a Medieval Fair would be better, really. The problem with a permanent land is that people want it updated with new activities and shops etc. A temporary thing doesn't have to take place every year so staff have time to plan new items and events.
I don't like this Suggestion. We already know how time-travel works in Subeta. Since humans are new to the planet, we don't have 'history' here. Whatever the natives did, it's unlikely to be like what humans did.
A medieval faire has been suggested elsewhere, this might be fun.
Humans aren't that new. The Morostide entry in the Subetapedia says "In centuries past, when Human colonists were spreading their tendrils throughout the wild reaches of Subeta,....." All we know is that the first humans arrived in the area which became Centropolis but we have no idea how they got there from Earth.
The game is stuck with the fact that some real world holidays have been adapted to fit in with Subeta lore.
Morostide - The Tehb had their own traditions relating to death and the afterlife Halloween originated as a festival of remembrance for the dead. If you look at the traditions in today's Morostide celebrations, they are a blend of human and Tehb traditions. Halloween on Earth and Morostide on Subeta is held in October so humans and Tebh developed pumpkin carving independently.
Survival - This festival about the Pandemic starts around the time of Valentine's day. Louis L'Amour isn't human and there's no indication that Survival celebrates romance. Louis, therefore, must have got the idea for his shop from humans. He even adopted a French name.
I do agree with everyone who says that a medieval fair would be better than a permanent land, though.
I support this completely. A Ren Fest would be really awesome. Could do it in May when there aren't a lot of other events going on
