Are you refering to the contest that makes the winning items onsite permanently and buyable?

If yes: Omg pls bring it back.

I think the main complaint about this type of contests was that very few users could participate. Not everyone is a CW artist, or willing to spend CSC or real money commissioning an item. While I&;d like to see more buyable, cw-like items, I prefer more varied contests like the Camp we had recently.

Not everyone can battle (or is willing to battle). Not everyone can get everything either. I mean, these items are buyable with sP. Yes, not everyone can commission an artist or draw by themselves but ... it's sP. To me it is much more interesting than make it a CS/CSC exclusive. And that's coming from someone who release CW and pay for them. Plus, you get to vote for a design that you like, which is also interesting.

This. This sums up my thoughts lol. I love the CW contests, they're a nice little challenge for the CW creators.

Agreed with It's more fun if I actually feel like my scribbles have a chance of winning. CWs are something that can be made outside of a contest too.

  1. CW contest doesn't mean there won't be another contest at the same time (like how we could draw, write, or make an HA).
  2. Not everyone can participate in every contest. "I can't do that" isn't a good argument. Not everyone could carve a pumpkin, or bake something for a website, but I doubt anyone would be arguing them re-doing those.

If the site's going to run another contest where ~20 users can enter, and the rest can sit and watch, then it's not very fun. Baking had 56 entries, pumpkin carving had 145, ornaments had 276, and Camp Veta had way more, because you could actually choose to enter in what you were good at. If there's another CW contest, I'd prefer it to be a category of something bigger. Maybe a contest where you can send or describe designs too, instead of having to draw with Subeta's quality standard. The more people who can participate, the merrier.

So you'd be alright with it if they had another way of participating, like how they did the camp contest ?

I would be alright with that. I really liked how camp veta really tried its best to get as many users involved as possible and having each category only compete within itself. I think that has been the problem with the other contests, they are too restrictive for something that should be a fun side-wide event (emphasis on the site-wide part)

Yup, I actually enjoy going through the entries and seeing what people come up with. And nice wearables at affordable prices are always welcome.

Nods I really liked being able to pick. A way to break this into three ways is:

  1. Draw your own CW; proper overlay(s) + item.
  2. Draw a concept, either digitally or printing the HA out and drawing it traditionally. Color and item ideas are included.
  3. Supply a reference (not tribute) and describe how it can be different from it, color idea, item concept, etc.

Then I'm not sure why you used one of my comments to argue the same point I made right above it :p

There were way more entries than what we voted on. The subeta staff just picked what they thought was the best of all the entries and those were what we voted on. I'm sure if they did another contest now they wouldn't even do that and we would be able to choose from all the entries.

They chose the ones that met all the requirements for CWs (art quality, proper names and descriptions, etc)
