anyone still play Sims 2? my current family is the "Aranai" family (i've been playing dragon age, shh.) Asrai & Zevran - they have one baby boy, Daemos. Asrai is a paramedic, and Zevran is a Junior Officer. Asrai is also pregnant again, without my permission. << I'll try to get screenshots tomorrow.
Who's your current family? :)

I got the complete set when Origin gave it away for free, but I'm so confused by it that I played it once and haven't gone back xD
I haven't played Sims 2 in years, I miss it so much! The whole collection is available to buy on the Mac App Store, perhaps when I get some spare money I'll get it. I remember just spending days and days playing it, and going to a friend's house and playing it there, it's definitely a childhood nostalgia game for me!
I got the ultimate when it was free on Origin, and I've been playing it off and on, alternating with TS4. I've been playing since the first Sims, I love that game.
After playing the heck out of 3 and 4, I lucked out and found a copy of The Sims 2 Double Deluxe in a retro games shop and am having a blast :)
I am actually trying to get Mrs. Crumplebottom to disrupt my date, so naturally she won't :P
My current family is a man with maxed out logic skill and about six alien children, ranging from child to teenager (and one who has become an adult and moved out on his own.) I'll admit I used the tombstone of life and death cheat to make it happen.
After hearing what everyone has said about how toddlers/children were so much more immersive in The Sims 2, I have to agree. So many little things! The fact that they'll constantly beg for attention, play with the toilet, can be given baths...
I also enjoy the want/fear mechanic, and how it adapts to what has happened in the Sim's life so far.
This game is definitely a bit more "brutal" than the later ones, though. When the wife in the first family I created died almost instantly in a fire I was 🙀 And her ghost got very angry when her husband remarried...
I love all three of the installments of The Sims that I've played, though :) They're all great in their own ways.
I loved it and used to play it loads, but unfortunately it doesn't work on my current computer! DX
I still play Sims 3 because that works fine (much better than it did on my old computer) but I would love to get The Sims 2 working again someday. I had a single neighbourhood on there with multiple downtowns and had literally thousands of sims that I had made and moved in to all the different sub-neighbourhoods. Looking back, I'm amazed it could handle all the data I forced onto it!

I recently figured out how to get it working on my laptop again (after like a year of it NOT working) and started playing it again! I've got an entire neighborhood of Hetalia characters, but my most recently made Sims are Mystic Messenger-based ones. And they all live in the same house together. I honestly like TS2 better than the later entries in the series. Faces in TS3 and TS4 just look really goofy to me for some reason??? I've also got tons of custom content and have my game modded beyond belief. I've got an Assassin career and a Consulting Detective career added to it, which is really fun.
those seem like awesome mods.
don't get so desperate for her to interrupt that you make her controllable, that can corrupt the game.
I grew up with TS1 and TS2 and loved them. I too have the Ultimate Collection (which is good because my laptop lacks a disk drive). I also play TS3, but less often because it is so slow, buggy, and laggy (no thanks to the many gigs of custom content I have there). There are things I prefer about TS2 and things I prefer about TS3, but both are great games. I have no plans to bother with TS4, and I have no way to get TS1 working on my laptop because of Window's 10's lack of compatibility with the DRM on the disks, my lack of a disk drive, and my refusal to pirate the game.
EDIT: I am a member at a Sims-related forum and used to post regularly before real life started to interfere, so I better back away slowly from this thread before I go overboard. I can talk about the sims, especially TS2, all day. :D
