So, this is something I've been thinking about for a while, and it goes along with needing to add more enticing privileges to GAs.
Currently, when you train a pet, to autotrain you get 24 hours of automatic training for 25 CSC
So what about the pets that are such a high tier that 24 hours of training only mean two training sessions? Who would waste 25 CSC to train their pet only two times? Once your pets reach a certain point, the autotrain function is completely useless.
Instead, I propose that the autotrain function should be 'get six automatic training sessions for 25 CSC'. Or maybe 12 sessions (but I think 6 is fair). That way, autotraining keeps it's value for everyone, even people with high tier pets that can only train once or twice per 24 hours.
With six sessions per 25 CSC, autotraining becomes terrible for people who want to kickstart a pet from T1 to T4-T5, which is the most common use of autotraining.
So, you make autotraining not worth it anymore for a majority, to make it worthwhile for a minority.
No support.
What I'd like to see is the CSC fee replaced with an sP one. We need more sP sinks, and autotraining has the potential to remove a lot of sP from the site, if this was done. It also wouldn't feel like a waste of CSC on higher tier pets.
I only use autotraining when I can spare the CSC for it, and that's not very often. I've got four pets in training now, and I'd happily pay double the sP fee and use autotraining every day if I could pay with sP alone for AT.
Autotraining is one of these features where it makes sense to be CSC, since it's something that's done automatically, like autopricing. You pay, and it does it itself with no further involvement.
Yes, we need more SP sinks, but I feel like autotraining would be better as a GA perk (if you have a GA, you can autotrain one pet for free) or stay as it is over being a SP sink.
Even at 6 sessions for 25 csc that's almost certian to be a complete waste compared to the cost of boosting. And like said, completely defeats the actual purpose of auto training which is to help lower tiered pets train faster to catch up.
We need sP sinks everywhere, you're not wrong on that BUT, WAAAAY more than that we need csc sinks because that's the only reason subeta exists...
And you too could help make a difference in Subeta for the better. For the low cost of just $1 per day you could not only help support this great site, but also train 4 of your pets automatically with just a few clicks of the mouse.
But once those lower level pets reach the higher tiers, it's now a useless feature. Now one less reason for a user to buy a GA - which is already lacking in perks
People who have 2-3 sessions a day have an alternative via boosters in the battle shop, can get a lot farther in battle quests, and have EXP points to spend. When your pet is up to 3 sessions a day, it's around T9. A Tier 9 pet doesn't need autotraining as a crutch anymore.
Meanwhile, a tier 2 pet needs autotraining to stay in the race a lot more than a tier 10 pet.
There are what, around 2000 pets tier 10 and over? Changing autotraining to benefit 2000 pets over the rest of the pets onsite isn't a good idea.
that would make it useless for everyone instead, since it would be less expensive and more immediate to boost instead of auto training.
My only battle pet is at tier 5 and the only main reason I use auto training is that it's a lot quicker to use auto training to boost the pet's stats than it is to constantly spend sp to boost my battle pet's stats consistently.
As others have stated, the whole point of auto training is to boost lower tiered pets and make it quicker for them to get to the upper level battle tiers. If all pets were only given 6 training sessions, regardless of tier level there wouldn't be much of a point for auto training in the first place when lower tiered pets need more training sessions to get their tiers up in the first place.
Maybe a better idea would be to have a second csc auto-training option.
example option one = 25 csc for 24 hours (better for low tiers) option two = 25 csc for 6 sessions (better for high tiers)
Than it would be up to the user to decide which is better for the pet they are training.
I agree it could be a good sP sink but I think a more substantial sP price would need to be put on it, like 2m per 24 hours.
Is that a typo? Because 2mil is not substantial.
Also to add on to everything about autotraining - it was said ... somewhere (I'll see if I can google up the post) but someone on staff had stated that the odd of getting a 2/3 stat increase per session is higher with autotraining than without. So it can be useful for all pets, even ones that get so few sessions.
For sp cost vs csc cost,it might not be a bad idea if the cost is 25 csc + whatever sp cost it is now or the option of sp cost x25/x40? or something, perhaps
- It's more substantial than the suggestion of doubling the training cost and 2m is also roughly around the cost of 25csc. So to answer you question, no that is not a typo. By all means times it by 25 or 40, suits me as then it'd be under that unsubstantial 2m mark for me and much cheaper than 25 csc.
