So I was thinking of an idea with battle scrolls... and reading. Now I'm not suggesting making the scrolls themselves readable because honestly.... a lot of them are expensive and coveted and well they are for battle.
But this got me thinking of an idea.
What if you could take a scroll to the Secluded Shrine and leave it there for say 12-24 hours and pay a fee and have the scroll COPIED into a readable version only. You cannot use these scrolls in battle they just become a book version. When you go to pick up your scroll you get the original back and then the copied version.
I thought it sounded unique and would offer more books not to mention giving some of those lesser used scrolls SOME use.
There could be other ways of doing this too, like turning in any old book to be made into parchment paper for the new scroll, plus a fee of course. You could limit it to 1-5 scrolls per time frame too.
As I said it's just an idea I thought would be neat.
I LOVE THIS IDEA! ❤ FINALLY I would have something to do with my stockpile of Poisonous Barrage Scrolls. :)
Also to cut back on item art and the like the replica copies could just have the same scroll look but say with a faded or worn out feel so you don't need to have a new item image totally.
oh this sounds interesting!
I really like the sound of this! I don't do much battling (my pets are all pretty weak), but I'd totally make scrolls just to make them into books if the option existed.
This is a great idea and has my full support c: This would bring back interest in making those scrolls that currently dont have much use
The item name also could be a default name such as Transcribed Aftershocks Scroll / Transcribed Telson Scroll. Each fee could be individual for every scroll - that way, rarer (and battle opponent) scrolls cost more (thus, making the Transcribed versions retain some value) and take more time to be made, and lower level spells are cheaper and take less time (but are still limited to a certain amount per day). I like this idea. I'm also gonna write a Scrolls suggestion soon, but it's more battle related. I expect rarer spells to be more expensive since battling is a costly investment, so battlers expect something in return. Getting the scroll weapon back should make the book version slightly less expensive than the weapon and less prone to inflation due to boss battles, since we would be able to make the books at any given time and increase supply, but at a limited rate per day to avoid flooding the market with useless cheap books.
Yes that is what I was thinking too. Have limits so that yes they don't flood the market and yes rarer scrolls hold even more value. I do like the idea of the names, brilliant!
idk this seems like a pretty convoluted way of releasing new books. scrolls don't need to be readable.
-shrug- True but hey... some day they'll run out of book ideas lol. Just saying.
Thank you! You should add some more info on your first post to make it more clear and a better developed idea so others who interest into this don't need to necessarely read through all the entries. As anyone into battling knows, AP is very important. A wider variety of books (and more accessibility to books, so the more AP and scrolls you have = the more AP you get by transcribing the spell scrolls into readable books) will allow us to get more AP with the scrolls we already have, also forcing us to get a wider variety of scrolls. It's a win-win. sP sinks, more books for battlers, a new site function. And perhaps.... PERHAPS [s]I HAD THE BEST IDEA EVER[/S] this could be added into a new Shengui Guo area - the Scribe. It could transfer scrolls (and, later on, other sorts of items (obviously brainstormed before and etc.)) into books for a fee.
Ok so it looks like beat me to the punch but I do love the idea of having a scribe sitting around in robes and a quill and carefully transcribing (and maybe illuminating, i don't have a thing for illuminated manuscripts what are you talking about) scrolls.
Heck, maybe eventually, the scribe could turn all those wearable items that people want to be readable into readable, nonwearable versions?? idk if this is actually a good idea, just throwin' it out there.
they/them/theirs, please.
xD it happens. Also it could probably be a place for NEW scrolls to be made - maybe Ice scrolls?! Also, i'd love newer scrolls. Lower level scrolls with actually improved effect are scrolls that work for lower tier pets. This is a super idea.
I like the idea of bringing the scroll somewhere and have the pet study it to count as read, instead of having a separate item for the read only version.
I really like this idea, I would do it.
ALL OF THIS! This would be so cool! I love where you guys have taken it with the scribe in Shengui Guo <3
Lemme just see if we can generate a lil buzz...
Whatcha guys think?? ^_^ - Team Blake-a-Cake member Virus put up this fun idea for a site feature. Input?
I don't know if this is something you might want to ping your book club about to see if they would like it? (I may have went searching through the forum groups for people who will love this as much as I do...)
( I swear I'm not trying to stalk you! LOL I lost that pet thread for a minute and went to your recently made topics to find it and got nosily interested in these other two! runs n hides)
like this idea :D.
Maybe the more 'powerful' the scroll (or level?) it is, the longer it takes to copy, and it costs some sP too (and maybe people with GAs get it done a bit faster?).
With the really rare scrolls that are freaky expensive/hard to find, event only or something, exclude those?
Possibly make it to where they're account bound for the copied versions, but the originals can still be bought/sold/traded, so maybe I could borrow insert name of scroll here from insert name of other user here, get it copied, and then return the original?
(please stop me, I have lots of ideas)
Harry Potter inspired dresses! !!

You are absolutely BRILLIANT!
I have useless (to me) scrolls sitting in my vault that my battle pet has 'outgrown'. This would be an amazing way to use them. I'm loving the idea of a Scribe in Shengui Guo who would transcribe them for us. If this were to happen I'd be at the Secluded Shrine making many more scrolls.
Thanks for the ping, this is an incredible thread I'm really happy not have missed it.
