WARNING THIS IS A LONG RAMBLE FROM A OLD CRUSTY PRETZEL. Have fun! :D
This topic was brought up, way back during the first Omen Islands events and maybe even before that by more adept readers of Subeta Lore, and that is Shinwa is responsible for the Omen Islands Inhabitants misery in recent generations.
What has been allowed to transpire on Omen Islands is horrific by every definition of the word, both to the Indigenous Islanders who have been forced to offer blood sacrifice from their own people- or to lure in Mainlanders in to state their oppressor, Merana's will. Some might ask, why is the Sea Witch Merana on Omen Islands, and how is this any of the Goddess Shinwas fault? Allow me to try and explain.
If you read both Shinwa and Merana's Biographies in the Subetapedia you can quickly start to see that the Omen Island's troubles were caused externally by the High Circle and spearheaded by 'the Goddess of Light' Shinwa.
Partial Quotes from the Merana Subetapedia page, we can see how she came to call the area that encircles the Omen Islands her domain, quote; 'The Goddess Shinwa saw her actions- In order to spare the innocent from her wrath, Shinwa banished her to the Omen Islands. Once brought to the islands, Shinwa realized that the native population would not be spared- Before leaving, Shinwa placed a magical seal on the islands to prevent Merana from straying far from the island coasts.' End Quote.
So here we have the reason for WHY the sea witch Merana is on the Omen Islands, she was placed there without consideration for the indigenous people's consent, leaving the Islanders to suffer at her mercy if her demands are not met at every whim.
Some might ask, where is the Goddess Shinwa now? Merana is banished to a small island- but she now terrorizes a whole group of people unabated! Shinwa was sent to Subeta to observe from her temple in the Sacred Lands, the truly messed up part? apparently that is all she can do, a quote from Shinwa's page reads 'Although incredibly powerful, Shinwa's abilities come at a price. If she leaves her temple in the Sacred Lands, she also leaves her powers until she returns, effectively making her a prisoner.' It also makes her choice to put Merana on a inhabited Island very disturbing, if she can see things from a god-like viewpoint, she should have known about the Islanders.
Shinwa's page doesn't mention Merana by name in her bio, but what it does mention is a bit more information on the possible pantheon of Subetan gods or entities that could have been called on to help not only the Islanders but perhaps all of Subeta in times of crisis, the Great Preservers.
Who are these beings you might be asking?
They are described in Shinwa's bio as a 'council-race who oversaw the universe' they are apparently so powerful that they could even put Shinwa in her place, after fighting with the Dark Goddess Maleria, a former member of the High Council on Shinwa's home planet in a epic magic battle, both were apprehended by the the Great Preservers for their equal magic destruction their warring caused, Shinwa was, as quoted from her bio 'was arrested, had her magic bound, and was informed she was to receive the same punishment as Maleria for letting her magic get so obscenely out of hand' we could then assume that Shinwas inability to leave her temple without loosing her powers is the direct result of these guardians of the galaxy.
So, now we have the Preservers who are even more powerful that the Goddess of Light Shinwa- cant they help? Cant Shinwa petition for the use of more of her powers to fight the Sea Witch Merana and aid the plight of the Omen Islanders she has burdened? maybe she could, because a member of the Great Preservers is currently on Subeta a quote from Shinwa's bio reads 'The Preservers, in accordance with their unyielding laws, sent one more of their number- she is known only as the Oracle, and makes her home in the Sacred Lands.
The Oracle is basically Shinwas handler in all this, as she has authority over her, given her membership as Preserver as well as her ability to see things others cannot, The Oracle could in theory be enlisted by Shinwa to assist her or get the attention of other Preservers to petition to for her powers back so she can do so herself.
Now I know I am going pretty hard on Shinwa, but understand that I do so only because she is represented as the embodiment of good to most persons of Subeta, she has to act even if she cannot, and I know that Shinwa knows what Merana is doing, during the last Omen Island event Shinwa acknowledges Amy was killed because of her, and she loves kids. However, if you read page 11 of the battle for omen islands, Shinwa claims that the islanders worshiped Merana as a free choice, when it is simply not true, the Islanders have no choice but to be her pawns less she kill them all, even more disturbing is the fact that Shinwa was RIGHT THERE and she didnt offer to help the Islanders, just banned their leader from leaving the island just like Merana. Shinwa is shifting the blame from herself! I dont want to spoil the current event plot points if someone reading has yet to get caught up, but its pretty infuriating when all of this is going on and it could and should be prevented,
I am looking at you, Goddess.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]Wow that is interesting.
Amy's death was before I discovered Subeta.
There are some points unclear for me.
A I know Shinwa and Maleria where friends on an other planet. They are exhealed to Subeta because they where both out of the control of their power.
B was this the same plot where Amy died or was this a later continuing plot after Shinwa and Maleria are already exhealed?
Shinwa and Malerina were both sent to Subeta, Malerina as a exile and Shinwa as her watcher. That lore gets them onto the planet of Subeta for all the other events to happen, IE Shinwa meeting and eventually Banishing the then human Merana onto Omen Isle.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]There was no plot for Shinwa and Maleria, it's just part of the lore of the characters. It happened before any of the history we've been part of as users. According to their character pages, Maleria went out of control to try to gain power, and Shinwa went out of control to try to stop her. They both did damage to the area they were fighting in, so they were both punished. The same with Shinwa and Merana. It happened before any user history. This was before we knew about the Omen Islands, and it was just the mysterious lost island. We couldn't explore it or anything, the only thing we knew about was Merana because she created the Hydrus pets.
Amy was a separate plot, but Shinwa commented on it because Merana was involved. It was this plot where the users discovered that Omen Islands existed and it was put on the map.
I just realized as I was typing this out that not only did Shinwa not save the Islanders, she hid their existence from everyone else, because we never knew about the Omen Islands until King K invited outsiders in for the pirates v islander plot!
Very True information! I still find it strange Shinwa would comment but not fix what had gone so wrong. Shinwa is a bit cruel in that regard for hiding their suffering.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]Ah, I see. That's gife much more clearness for me. Thank's.
Could you tell me what's your source please?
It's fascinating, but what I still don't understand is that when Shinwa leave her temple it would be not sure if she hold her power. I had always understand she was directly after her exile to Subeta in her temple from the beginning of her exile. How could she out the temple and be on Omen Islands without to lose her power?
I remember wondering why Shinwa didn't do anything to stop Amy's death back when the first Omen Islands event happened. Maybe we'll get some answers this time around (probably no, though).

Under Personality the second paragraph talks bout her power issue.

if you scroll to the mid-way portion you will see Shinwa and can read her text.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]It's still confusing, maybe it was a hologram of Shinwa? She can't left her temple, or was she before the temple was build in the Omen Islands?
I read Maleria has got a bigger power than Shinwa at that moment, so it could be more Maleria's fault than Shinwa's fauld.
It more than likely WAS her projection/hologram at the first event, but even still she could see what was going on, and having her knowledge of events she could have tried harder. Sea Witch Merana has indeed grown stronger while she has been banished to Omen Isle- more than likely from extorting both the Islanders and the local pets alike.
Shinwa put a wicked witch on a little island and gave the people who lived there- whether knowingly or unknowingly a death sentence, If you have been reading the Bad Omen plot the brother kings talk about it more. Sad Stuff.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]I have read. Actually this whole script are pictures of scrolls (also the text). I can't copy the text and translate into Dutch. English is not my native language.
But what I understand is that Shinwa has done what she could, but unfortunately Merana has got a bigger power than she has.
she contained her, yes. but she doomed a race of islanders in the process- until yesterday to do it, with no way to help them deal with it.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]So you hope she will come back to the Omen Islands once to finish her work to make it better for the islanders? Or she appear and shows us an other side of her persona we don't know?
It could be possible she will appear today, but I'm not sure.
Staff could be with unexpected surprises, I guess so.
Yes, I would like a resolution and some restitution for the islanders who have gotten a bad name from everything that HAD to do to stay alive.

[tot=Twisted_Pretzel]I am in total agreement, Shinwa should be held accountable. If I recall, she didn't intervene in the Islander/Pirate war which resulted in the murder of Amy, but merely stated that she was powerless to do anything. There are so many holes in this story right now that it leads me to believe that this plot is not over yet....too many loose ends.
But how is it possible to leave her temple without to lose her power?
I am questioning Shinwa's power. She knows Mono Ri was cursed by Maleria, but can only make her "half good" instead of correcting it. Is Shinwa actually weaker than Maleria and Merena.
And does Oracle ever do anything?
