I once figured out how to recolour pet images with Gimp, but I've since forgotten .. I've tried using an overlay layer for a chibi feli (I'm trying to recolour the chibi image so the colours match sweetheart), but I'm finding the colours are coming out too dark, or too pale - changing the brush colour isn't really helping! Is there perhaps a tutorial kicking about for pet recolouring in gimp? Thanks!

someone might be able to point to a different, more recent one? but the only guide i know of is this one which i remember using once or twice way back when. it's way too old to post on and it looks like all the images are broken but if you right click on the little broken image squares to open them in new tabs or quote the post to get the image urls, they're all still available to see on tinypic.
