It would be great if an option existed to relinquish an inventory item to someone with that item in their wishlist. I've just come back to this game, so I'm uncertain, but I don't see an easy way to find someone with the item in their wishlist and gift it to them.

I think wishlist search (click) is what you're looking for?

To be fair, a shortcut option to donate directly to wishlist on the items themselves doesn't appear to exist (Along with donate / send to vault / etc), and that's what I meant. I didn't even know about this search wishlist feature, though. Useful.

Just be aware that a lot of users who show up on the wishlist search may be frozen or inactive, so it's best to check their profile before gifting. (If someone doesn't have a nose they're likely inactive. There was a wardrobe change a while back that made everyone lose their noses.)

Yeah, I ran into that problem. I was going through and most of the users are inactive. It'd be nice if I could filter by active only, so I guess that's my suggestion. That or something similar.

This has also made me realize how inconvenient "Last Seen: x" being hidden is for people.

You can try to check their recent posts if they have that available or you feel like plugging their userID into the recent posts url, but that's a lot of effort. xD It would definitely be nice for only active users to show up on the wishlist search!

You can close it, thanks. As long as inactive people's wishlists are handled the way they are - donating directly to wishlist from the item summary page would probably be a bad idea. Those two ideas seem like they would need to work in tandem.

The way it is, just donating to the donation pool seems like my best bet.
