The only reason I like my time better on Neopets is because of the petpages each pet gets. I would probs quit Neo permanently if we could have one petpage for each of our pets here. Neo really really sucks right now but subeta has potential. Petpages for all your pets would be just what I need to have fun being creative to the max with my pets.

Please Lock this too, it was a stupid idea.

While I get what you're going for, I think the amount of customization for pet profiles more than makes up for the lack of "petpages".

I'm confused. Don't we already have this? Isn't that what Edit Description is for? Or am I misunderstanding?

Thats more like a petlookup from neopets. I mean like a whole blank page for every pet. See on Neopets your pet had one page displaying all there stats n stuff and they also had their own petpage, you could edit both. That's what I'm saying. I'm not an expert at coding but I really enjoyed designing petpages on neopets. I just wish we had those here.

What we have is actually a combo of the pet lookup (stats) and petpage (allowing large amounts of customisation)

So no. we don't need two things doing the same and this is what was lame about Neopets - the fact that not everything is in the same place

You can redesign your pet though? The stats and descriptions and such don't need to stay on the page or in the same position. Like today's spotlight winner.

Or friday's winner.

I really think it's a lot better being combined on one. Neo was the first pet site I played, but even when I started it seemed redundant to have two separate pages for each pet. I've never really been into coding, but it seems to be a lot easier on Subeta than it was on Neopets too. You could easily keep all the basic information that your pet lookup already displays and also customize it however you want.

I didn't know how to code or anything when I started, either. I slowly taught myself, but you can also commission other people to do that stuff for you! That's what great about Subeta vs Neo, you can commission art, profiles, etc...! Like me, I can't draw, so 99% of my art for my pets is commissioned.

The pet pages here are so customization I'd say they're even better than petpages on Neo. You can do nearly anything on them.

On subeta people make you pay for coding I'm saving up for more pet slots endlessly so I can't afford that... See this is what I'm talking about...

There's always people willing to make free profiles; made the profile for my Hollows for free. And it's a very nice one as well!

Where there's a will there's a way.

Learn how to do it or use some of the ones people offered that are simple and you can fix them up as long as you credit the actual user who created the code and not claim it as your own..

You obviously would need to pay for someone's hard work. Do you give your art away for free? No, you charge. Coding is just as time consuming and takes a lot of skill to do.

Good luck. :)

Learn to code yourself. It's actually a very valuable skill and something that's going to be useful outside of Subeta.

Also yeah, people are going to ask for money in exchange of services. That's a thing everywhere in the world, in every domain.

Rest assured that once you get into the swing of things, making sP is pretty straightforward. If you don't want to pay someone to make a profile for you, there are actually tons of sites geared towards helping people learn coding--codecademy is the one I hear recommended the most. We used it in a class I took one year, and it's designed to be very easy to learn from it on your own. Plus, people here on subeta can help you out with coding on the forums, too, if you ask questions. Besides that, you can always stagger your goals if you do want to pay someone for coding--maybe take a break from making new pets and focus on one or two to make their profiles look really nice. It takes time, but you can do it! :D

I'm assuming you mean the webpage/pet look-up thing that neopets has?

I was a bit confused reading that as well, but I went back to my neopets account and now I remember that each had their own look-up and individual webpage as well.

That said, I think the customization on subeta is plenty personally. There's really no reason to mimic the neopets model when there's already a huge amount of customization for pet profiles as is.

If you had to know, for pet profiles here, you should learn html and css. That's it. I personally advocate w3schools as a good place to start if you want to learn. There are some html tags that aren't supported here (with good reason) but it's mostly weirder stuff like canvas or embed - basically the stuff that lets html incorporate flash or javascript (inb4 somebody phishes on their pet pages lmao). I'm pretty sure all of CSS3 is fine here.

Though, of course, if you have the patience to sift through threads and also wait kindly, there are people who practice profile making and offer free ones in this subforum. There are also free premade profile codes posted as well... though I guess mine is down there somewhere, heh.

As far as I can see it, you can ajust your pet profile completely to your taste, if you know how. Some have very beautifull petprofiles or petpages. thus I really don't understand this wish.

I have been on Neo but I felt their petprofile/-page thing was very limited.
