I went to make a HA and realized that there isn't an orange base color! I would really love to see something like this or maybe a Hex option to choose your own skin color?

Heh, the same thing happened to me yesterday. Needless to say, I agree.

Agree ~

I've had similar issues before where I wanted my skin color to be grey or green or something, but none of the default colors were the shade that I actually wanted.

I think a hex option or a color chart would be nice. That way everyone can get whatever color they might want to use.

I'm not even that much into avatars, but having a colour wheel for skin colours would be amazing.

Have the default skin tones that we already have now, a colour wheel and an option to "bookmark" several custom skin colours (so you don't have to mess around with finding that one shade of lilac that went SO WELL with that one miniskirt). Extra custom skin colour slots for GA members, or something? IDK, rambling.

Support this all the way.

I know u wanna do it to make a Kori HA. I know u do. I actually experienced that problem years ago myself. So absolutely, I still support a color wheel for the HA base. (Also revamped shading please)

(btw as a suggestion I'd say just go with a darker skin tone for Kory, like I did on my CW preview. PoC Kory ftw anyway)

Yaaaaas with Kori we can be the Outlaws! I'm totally going with a darker shade of skin and then I'll add some fiery components!

i know this has been shot down in the past due to the fact that avatars are not shaded with gray but with a different shade of their base color that is selected by hand, so a color wheel or other method of customizing the base color would cause complications as far as the shading color. however i'm sure this could be worked around (maybe let users pick both the base color AND shading color like you can in the hair salon) because i do think it would be a very nice feature.

I would love a greater selection of base colors. I keep wanting a brick red/orange and there isn't one. ;A;

This gets requested at least once a year and never happens, but if the artists ever cave and make this I'd still support it

The avatar base needs to be revamped shading wise anyway. I really don't understand why that can't be done. The base shading we have now makes the skin look terribly plastic-y, and really doesn't match the clothing items (CW and official) that have been released the past few years.

it is about time for another update, i agree. in fact, the lineart and shading on the special color skintones are still the old version - they never got updated at all! for example, base 1 (lightest) vs base 20 (white):

those awkward ankle bones, too... and yet it feels like it wasn't even that long ago. and while the current shading isn't by any means bad, the art quality of everything else on site has shifted so drastically over the past couple of years that it just looks awkward, especially when paired with those new gorgeous photorealistic backgrounds.

Impossible to fix the ankles, but the shading can and should be updated. The face looks so flat unless you layer it up with blushes and make up.

i meant the little ankle bone line on the old shading, actually. i totally agree on the lack of dimension in the faces - i can't wear anything without at least one blush and some freckles - though i don't know if that should be changed at all because i'm sure there are times where people prefer to leave it as is.

Oic, ic. The ankles are just hopeless in any form though xD

Totally understand that. Not sure if there IS a way to add shading to the face so it doesn't feel less flat. Unless maybe altering the noses to hair more shading than just the tiny shadow at the bottom?

I would dig that.

Also seconding the side conversation at slightly more definition in the face, but I get how that would be hit or miss.
