(and anyone else!!) I would like to hear your opinions on this:
My pet is now established in T7, and I am doing fine so far. My real question is this... As I reach T8/T9, are there weapons that I should be saving up for? And I am talking about attackers, not the Soma, Amulet, etc. The only changes I have made to my post on sets before is that I replaced the Lantern with the Item Hunters Bomb and have pulled Inferno for Morosbane. Really, the only reason I have the Bane scroll is because it, along with the Gale Force, gives me some good healing in lieu of the Amulet, which is working out fairly well right now. The current "guide by tiers" on here is suggesting a couple of new weapons for T8, but I am not really that impressed by what they give as opposed to what I am getting from the Wand and Knocker. If I understand what I have read on here correctly, then about T10 things are going to really change... i.e. needing weapon sets / scroll sets based on the opponent rather than a generic set that will get you through most battles. So I guess my real question here is this... are there weapons (attackers) in T8/T9 that I should consider saving for, that are really worth the expense... or am I better off getting the Soma, RV, Amulet and saving sp for when I finally reach T10?
Another thing... I suppose this is more than . kbbob, I know from reading on here that you are not big on the legendaries, and I DO get that. Very expensive and there are other items that can do just as good for a better price. Now, both of you ( if I am remembering correctly) have said that having multiple SE/CE scrolls is a good thing... and I will not argue that. However, after researching a bit I have found that both of those scrolls lack any defense on wind and magma. So... taking a look at the legendaries, it seems to me that having the Prehistoria, in conjunction with the scrolls, could be a very good thing (of course, adding Sentinel @ T8). Am very interested in hearing your thoughts (and anyone else that actually read all of this LOL) on all of this!
And thank you both again!! ;-)
tier 8: is pretty cheap since it was rereleased recently and probably your best t8 attacker. I have seen people say they've used with success so that may be a weapon to try out is good for freezing.
tier 9: you can probably use the same attackers. t9 can be pretty boring. is the standout freezer of the tier, I think the short swords in the battle shop are tier 9 and have some use against certain opponents but it depends. I think is also still decent in t9
legendaries can be good if you have them, but they are expensive and I always just thought saving your sP for something in a higher tier is more worth it. wind defense is obtained through which is great if you can afford it, or in t11 you can use which is a lot cheaper and a bit more reliable in terms of healing.
blocks magma, so you could use that. it really depends what challengers you're up against though. not every challenger does all of the icons, so you have to craft your set to block which icons that challenger spits out.
Thank you, some weapons to consider when I get closer to T8. I realize I am quickly moving into the opponent based tiers. The problem with the Trident is that it simply is not available, I have been watching to try and snag one but they simply are not out there. After a second look at the I have to admit it would upgrade the nicely.
My main weapons for T8-T9 consists of and
Definitely a lot more options here. I never use the bluud wand, that is just for when I am ready to make the cronos blade. The gutting knife I used a lot before I was T10 and was able to use DGR so that would be good to get while it's still cheap. Scientist spec are great before you hit T9 and then I would say to swap it out for the energized helmet, which should remain your staple freezer from T9 onward. The rapier, malice cannon and malignant rift staff are all good buys, although the staff may be on the pricier side now. The prodigy staff can be good if you need to do water damage and need some heal, but it is not a reliable fire blocker. The item defender shield and tower shield I used to find useful for specific situations. The charged tower shield is definitely better, but I think these sell for around 200 - 250 mil and you would be better off borrowing it from somebody that already has one and just save the money for the better weapons at higher tiers. Malerias SS is better to be replaced with the minotaur knocker but I would consider Shinwas SS to be a good buy. I used it for my wins against the forj and it was a very good magma blocker until I got the unstable syringe. The sword also has a blessing that heals you, but the best thing about the sword is that you can buy it from the battle shop so you don't have to worry about making a huge investment.
For wind blocking, I have always used my blessed trident or swashbuckle. If you don't have the trident and since you can't use the swashbuckle yet, you could get a bunch of scrolls. Wind is not a commonly dealt icon though. Actually, I think it's probably the least dealt icon at all tiers with the exception of several opponents at higher tiers. also blocks wind and has around 80% chance to freeze. I would highly recommend getting this scroll at some point but it is expensive.
