As of right now you can redeem an item that unlocks a battle challenger more than once. I did it months ago with a signet from the cash shop and I did it again today with an item from the millionaire center.
I have so many challengers and they're on numerous lists so it's not always easy to remember whether or not I've got them unlocked.
My suggestion is to make it so that you get an error about already having unlocked the challenger rather than just having the page go blank and your item being eaten.

Or have it be like plushies and beanbags or something, where instead of having the clickable option of unlocking the challenger it will tell you something like "You've already unlocked this challenger"
This is something I've talked to Amber about and she told me it's something would need to code and then Amber could attach it to all of the summoning items.
I have yet to double-unlock a challenger, but I'm always super paranoid about doing it. ._____. This would certainly lend some peace of mind! A+ suggestion, totally backing.

Gaaah I think I just made this mistake myself. Ironically after seeing this thread and checking my CS challengers to make sure I didn't already have one. Just got the "back to items" link and nothing to say I had unlocked a challenger. It ate my items, didn't it? D:
This shouldn't happen. You can't lose an item that can't be added to your collections or wardrobe because it's already there. A full pet won't use up a food item it can't eat. Why are these items being lost when the challenger was already unlocked? :(
It would be great if these items could show unlocked challengers when running them through account search. We can account search for redeemed wigs now, right? How hard would it be to do the same for redeemed challenger items?
file a ticket if you think that happened, I think they can help you get your item back :)

Staff have always been very helpful putting these glitches right. Just annoying it happens in the first place.
Is this a difficult thing to implement? It seems like it would be a pretty easy fix. The time saved on people having to make tickets and staff having to answer them would make it worth it, I'd think.
