Im still trying to find this myself, but so far Im not coming across anything that has the look I want for it yet.

And since I didnt mentoin it and DaringSpirit reminded me of it, I have checked Ravelry for free patterns, and nothings seems to fit what I need.. :(

Any of my fellow sharks know of anything that could work? :3

What I want is something similar something like this, but ankle length, And the waistband maybe an inche, inch and a half tall (but that seems like the easy part)

Since I'll be wanting to wear it in the Texas summer, I'll have to make it as 'light' as I can with what limited supplies I have at the moment (which isn't much really), so maybe with chain loop...things? (if you can't already tell, i dont know the names for half of the stuff XD)

If it should matter, im in the 'plus size' category', maybe a 2XL, but 3XL is more comfortable for me.

If anyone knows any way I can get a skirt like the one in the link, thats be great! (and i Might send something your way that you can use/sell :3)

have you tried Ravelry? You may need to join but it's free. A quick search for free skirt patterns gave me this

Thats where I find most of the thigns I make, but nothing on there would fit me and has the look I want, or isn't my size but is easy to make that way.

How about this one? It's not actually something you crochet yourself, though, as it repurposes an old tablecloth. There are plenty of guides for making simple sewn circle skirts that could be used to adapt the waist & hem measurements.

(I should probably mention I don't know how the tutorial actually works out in practice, as I'm looking to make one of these for my kid but haven't found a suitable small tablecloth yet :D)

Doesnt seem too hard if I could find a tablecloth with enough of it to fit me XD. Or a sheet, that works to I guess.

BUt thanks for the idea :D goes to bookmark it and hoes it does't get lost

Got to admit, I am a knitter not a crocheter, but had a look about for you.

Are you much into adapting patterns? There's a short circle skirt here and a maxi pattern here & here.

As a knitter I often mod patterns to my requirements, so I would pick and choose the bits to make my design. Best I can find so far! :)

Havent done it before, but never hurts to try :D.

I think first link would work out, maybe with different stitches used (though with the shll stitch im fairly partial to now, I gotta make sure theres not 'leftover' (yay for division and 'fancy' maths? XD)

I think I remember looking up a thing on how to upsize a crochet pattern, but Im not sure if thats for plushies, or for clothes too. I'll just have to find it again I suppose :D Thanks for the links! :D

I finally found a bra type pattern (well, its a tank top I think) that had the top part of it like a bra, and it actually made sense to me and I could actually make it. Good thing i didnt intend on using the whole thing, 'cause the reviews for it say the measurements for it are WAY off.

EDIT: If theres a way to download/see the pattern for the first skirt link, I can't seem to find it D:

EDIT : Would using a tree skirt pattern work you think? Just...multiply it by however much I need?

I think the first one is a 'log in to access' site, so would guess that's the way?

Whilst it's more work, sometimes it's better to amend things. For fit as well as stylings!

Good luck either way!

I did log int the site with my Facebook, but even a search of the entire site for patterns didn't come up with anything D: Did leave a comment there asking the person who posted the finished thing if they could tell me where they got it, or if they made it up themselves.

And thanks :D. I'll give the search anotehr go when Im done figuring out the 'bra top thing' Im working on , and wanting for this weird bug a foot or two away to get the fuck off o my stuff (if I knew it wasn't poisonous, Id get my moms puppy to eat it...XD)

I think part of the problem with finding what you're looking for is that crochet stretches so much... If you make a circle skirt, it might wind up stretching down, so that it still winds up somewhat form fitting, just longer than you expected... It would have to be a super tight pattern, otherwise... Then, you might as well just knit it, which would be faster!

I know you said you checked Ravelry, but this pattern is quite a long skirt, and still quite full, despite being crocheted...

It's not obvious until you click on the pictures, but it might be something interesting for you...

Also, do you know how to crochet from the symbols, instead of the abbreviations? There are a couple of really nice ones on this website on this website, but the writing is in Russian, so if you can't crochet it from the diagram, it woulnd't be much good.

Like the other Russian, here is another page with diagrammed skirts.

Also, I don't know how creative you are with patterns... If you're willing to edit a pattern some, you could try working just the skirt part of this dress. Of course, you'd have to make sure you worked in a way that gave you a tight enough, stable enough waist (maybe combine it with the waist from another pattern, and/or a belt of some kind?)

A possibility :3. The event I was needing it for passed (wasn't even able to go...boo...) but who's to say that I might not find another use for it? :D

Aw , that's too bad. :( Some of those skirts are really beautiful, though, so who knows? They could still be great just for regular summer wear :)

Can't argue with that :D. I just hope that I have the patience to make them. Thats a thing I haven't had a lot of lately.

Hhaha , that IS the hard part. Some of those patterns could take quite a while! I've always meant to do a tablecloth, because they're so beautiful, but I just can't bring myself to spend that much time!

stares over at the monstrosity next to me thats spiralled out of control. I got bored one day and just started making a circle for something to do, and then my mom gave me the idea for making it into a blanket. It 'finished' the first part about the size of a dinner plate, and when I last measured it, it was jsut over 3ft wide. Originally it was light pink, then neon rainbow, a lavender sort, bright pink, dark blue, bright rainbow, gray, orange, black and now dark purple.

DEAR GOD IT WON'T STOP GETTING BIGGER AND CHANGING COLORS! (though mostly pink, since i Have loads of pink)
