Hey, what’s up, hello. I’ve hosted two contests before centered around certain attributes/layers that I consider core elements to my avatar-making style. This time is no different – this contest will be centered around BUSTLES. So yeah, staff-run avatar contests are..not my thing! Thus, I came up with the idea for the contest late at night. And honestly I didn’t realize how…broad of a concept a bustle would be. I’ve made a list of items I would consider bustles, however with the newer wardrobe and putting stuff behind the base, basic maxi skirts can also become bustles! LOTS of room for creativity here, and I hope to see it manifest in the entries!

-- directions:

• Make an avatar using at least 1 item from THIS LIST AND/OR make your own bustle thing!
• Make sure your avatar meets the specifications.
• Ping me with your entry that is hosted on an image-hosting site. (imgur.com is preferred)

-- avatar specifications, etc:

• Your creation must be original! I cannot stress that enough.
• You may not exceed 4 items per layer!
• You do not need to wear your avatar. You may use the share feature in the wardrobe, and having no nose would not count against you!
• You may use up to TWO Custom Wearables. However, CW bustles/trains/skirts/etc to aid in bustle-making are NOT allowed!
• Color matching is not required, although recommended because I am super picky. Avatars with a coherent overall theme are also a plus.
• You may enter multiple times with different bustles, there’s no limit! But you will only get the participation prize once.

-- prize information:

All entries must be posted before 11:59 PM September 30th Subeta time! Yes, you will have a month to do this! (which means I also have a month to get enough for the prize pool) Prize distribution/announcements will be on October 1st. I will choose 3 users, and I'll randomly draw 1 more just for kicks :-) Judging is based on how well the bustles fit with the avatars and how original I find the avatars to be. …no bustles for prizes but you’re free to use these, resell/gift/pawn, print them out to wipe your butt bc you don’t have a bustle on irl, etc. Prizes: 1- + 2 - 3 - random - a wishlist item worth ~5 mil participants - everyone gets a . yay!

Well, you would know, I was wearing one of the items on the list already.... The "with different bustles" part of the rule is sort of unfortunate though. :I I have two outfits I made recently with the same bustle, I'd love to enter them both haha.

First entry! I hope this works. The bustle is a cash shop piece that attaches at the waist and I've laid it over my dress so it billows out behind it. I'd wear this in real life if I could come up with a reason and had a dress! ;) Probably more to come!

I tried to make a bustle out of feathers today. Let me know if this worked or if you think the entry doesn't suffice as using a bustle

As soon as I stumbled over the harpy tail feathers I just had to try and make something with it. I'm happy it qualifies as bustle.

Ooh how nice! Bustles usually equate to me as steampunk/victorian-ish which is my favorite genre! I challenged myself into doing another one that is far from that theme haha. Thanks for this contest!
