Two of the voting categories require much more work than the others. We need help!
It would be nice if we could mark a writing entry as 'read'. Failing that, it would be nice if we could freeze the stories in place. It takes a long time to read that much stuff and make a judgement for it then to move around and not realize you've read the same (probably so boring you forgot it already) thing.
It would be nice if we could do a preliminary sort on the CWs, to sort of mark out those that we like and dumping out those we don't without committing to vote. There's just so MANY of them!
This actually would have been a really good idea, to somehow have had it so people could mark what they'd read already, and a better page view in general so people could read without being overwhelmed.
Agreed.. I know many have spent so much time and effort in the stories and submissions and I would like to give everyone a fair chance, but it is just too cumbersome now.
I don't like how the stories are laid out. They all mush together. It's overwhelming to look at. =| They need like bold lines or something between each individual entry.
Yeah, if there was anything to checkmark stories as read or even better send them to a new page that you can flip through of read and unread to just clear it out it would be great. As it is now it's getting more tedious to read through as time goes on because I can't sit through reading them in one sitting and I'm reading from my phone and after awhile the page refreshes just automatically so the order changes and I'm stuck sifting through unread and read entries.
That being said, potentially because of the wide variety of categories, but I'm definitely not as daunted as I was like during the beer competition and stuff. So while there is still room for imporovement in how these contests are done, I do think that improvement is being made overall.

I like and 's ideas here. 's not so much because it makes it exactly like a RL slushpile.
Nobody has added anything about the HA contest. It has occurred to me to add that these could be presented in a smaller page to make them easier to load, and not re-scrambled until someone has seen them all.
you could probably make a new thread in feedback simply listing the pros and cons of the whole event without so much suggesting things, and in the following posts, suggestions would get made.
or you could repurpose this thread into "Suggestions for voting in future competitions" or something like that.
