so i search by all categories; i love tinkering in wardrobe and expanding and organizing my wishlists.

but making a themed ha takes a little more effort. and finding just the right colors.

(stop me now and tell me if this is already a thing... but i don't think it is)

searching by colors of the rainbow, shades, maybe vague multicolored option too? idk.

is this too big a request or would not be implemented enough by other users? has anyone else wanted this? most of my ha's are covered in white, black, or red and this would cut down on my time personally when finding the exact stuff i'm looking for- THERE'S THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF CLOTHES! XuX; it's great, but it does get difficult when items without color/pattern words in their names slip through my vision!

just thinking, since back when we were able to help subeta for a little while sort through items and tag them by key words and colors. maybe put that tagging to more use? i was on a hiatus for a while, and when i came back, i didn't really think about that and don't know if that's still a thing....

when you select an item in the wardrobe, you can select little boxes underneath that will select the hex code and search your wardrobe for other items tagged with that hex code color. I'm not sure if it's the most user-friendly thing right now, but there is another version of the wardrobe being worked on and it may be improved in that version.

the existing color search only works with older items - it seems that function was given up on around the time we switched to the v3 wardrobe, because it is very limited and not very accurate. i don't know if staff would even want to try doing that again, considering it seems like that requires either manually adding color metadata to every wearable on site (which... is probably far more trouble than it's worth, even if you outsourced that to users), or implementing some sort of script that automatically grabs hex values from the item overlays and then groups those hex values into their appropriate colors (i.e. everything between and is red, and so on), which i think is similar to what they were doing before but again, it runs the risk of not being very accurate (i.e. if the pixel it chooses is too close to the outline it may register as gray even though the item itself is pink)... anyway i'm just not sure if this is viable. it would be useful if it could be done properly, but i wouldn't want anyone to agonize over it if it's too complicated.

The current "search for color" function could definitely need an update. If you search for black or dark gray it'll just show every item because of the lineart or shading.

But it will probably tough to go through thousands and thousands of wearables to have them marked properly for the color search.

aww, man. that seems like a lot of work.... :/ i did notice yesterday that with a few items in my wardrobe it showed a small pallet of colors by the item name.

i think if they can't update it, then it should just be rid of altogether. wardrobes already went through enough TwT
