I am here to grace you with my presence!
All joking aside, I am happy to be here. I am a 21 year old mom, wife, service dog handler and new Subeta user. My background in virtual pet sites is Neopets and after over a decade with them and the walkthrough here, I think I will like it here much more. Neopets has really gone downhill over the last few years and I believe it to be on its last leg - thus my sparkling new membership! I hope to find goals I feel suit me on this site and overall just keep things simple. I enjoy having a motive when I log onto my computer and as a stay-at-home mom, I think I have exhausted YouTube and other outlets as a whole. I'm thinking about leaning towards plushie collecting from what I've gathered here so far via the walkthrough. I am also interested in learning about the pet layovers and the custom items you can have made for your avatar - if at all possible I'd like to be looking into having my dog made as she is by my side 24/7 and a huge part of my independence and life as a whole.
A little about me - As I said I am 21, a stay at home mom and a wife. I also keep freshwater fish and reptiles as a hobby and love it. We just moved from the south to Alaska so I am re-building my collection but I currently own 8 axolotls (hence my username), 1 tiger salamander, 1 leopard tortoise, 1 common (red tail) boa, 1 bearded dragon, 1 crested gecko, 7 leopard geckos and 2 betta fish. I will be adding a few odds and end schooling fish and a brackish puffer soon but I am focusing on upgrading my axolotl tank first. Outside of those hobbies, I knit, crochet, sculpt and have even made professional fursuits and kigurumi in the past. I love to think of myself as an outgoing person but I do have some hindrances from being said person. That being said, if we didn't have hindrances, we wouldn't grow as people and I greatly look forward to the day I can look back and say I have overcome them.
I'll leave it there and go further explore the site and learn about how it functions! Thank you for having me!
First off, welcome to Subeta! If you have any questions about the site, feel free to ask! There're TONS of friendly, helpful people in the main userbase, and the Staff and forum mini-mods are veritable fonts of knowledge as well. :3
Secondly, I love your username! I adore axolotls, and I really wish California wasn't stupid with their laws prohibiting them in the state (yet somehow, a friend's former landlady had two...).
And it sounds like you're a very creative person! Do you happen to have an Etsy shop?
Welcome to Subeta! I love your username, and you seem like you have quite the menagerie! Impressive! I haven't kept freshwater fish in a long time (or any fish for that matter), and do miss it (not sure if I miss vacuuming fish poop) .
When you say you're a service dog handle, does it mean you help train them? n_n /a little oblivious. My mum has a dog that she picked up from the poung as a failed guide dog ^__^;
If you stumble into any questions, feel free to ask c:

- Thank you! I did most of my quests last night and managed to make 3mil (not sure what the economy here is like yet) so I do think I'm off to a fair start. I love my axolotls and will be adding a few more colors to my group before I call it complete but I do have most of them on the market right now with only one duplicate. They will look fantastic in a huge tank and I am very excited. I do not have an etsy shop but I am currently working on customizable reptile jewelry - I am sculpting miniatures and am going to cast them and paint them to fit buyer's animals. I am also in the process of getting the supplies to make another kigurumi because it's getting cold again up here and they are unbelievably warm lol.
- I'm a service dog handle? Oh no! Change me back! ;) When I say I'm a handler, I mean that I own and use a service dog on a daily basis. She is a 10 month old rough collie mix and doing exceptional in her training. One of the reasons I don't like most of the big name programs is that right there, if a dog doesn't work, they dump it rather than trying to find it an appropriate home. I'm glad your mom got him and he didn't get put down.
I don't think any of the agencies actually dump the dogs to be put down, I think they let SPCA vet the rehoming process (in New Zealand, where we got him anyway), because they're considered highly desireable given they've been socialised/trained, and are always well looked after puppies n__n
I think the labrador/retriever cross my mum has has too strong a food drive, I can see why he failed, he gets distracted very easily (cats, food...) and also very bad memory (walked out 2 doors once and forgot how to get home...) lol

Welcome to Subeta!
How do you have enough time in a day being a mom, wife, and handler with a kajillion hobbies! I already find it difficult myself without being the three mentioned...you have to tell me your secret!

- I wish I had a secret! My husband goes away for work for months at a time on top of it so I am left to train the dog, the kid and I am actually moving BY MYSELF with them this weekend. To top it all off, I won't have internet for a week because the company can't get out until the 8th.. kill me now. lol
You are role model!
I just moved in July again and even with 3 people, they were cleaning for weeks...the move itself was a lot less painful, so hopefully you've got some good support (from movers or other family?).
And that's terrible...no internet in this day and age...at least you'll get a lot of sculpting done? I'd really love to see some of your work!

- I just moved to Alaska from the south, I don't have any family or friends up here yet! It's a solo mission, haha! Due to the nature of some of my disabilities I'll probably be bed-bound for the next week anyways so hopefully I can get some sculpting done! I also hand-spin yarn and may do some work on that as well! At least my daughter and dog will have a yard, we've been cramped up in a 700sq/ft apartment for a year now so moving to a house is going to be an amazing change!
Sounds like you get some rest and work done!
More space will mean more fun. Glad they be able to run around freely in the comfort of their own home!

Hey! I'm fairly new to Subeta myself, but I'd love to help you out if you need any advice with finances, or just a few items to help you get started. <3
Welcome to Subeta! ❤
I was so happy when I saw your username. I adore axolotls! My list of favorite animals is not short, but they are definitely one of my favorite-favorites :) I've also been really into reptiles lately! I wanted a bearded dragon for a long time but sort of fell out of that desire. More recently I discovered Blue Tongued Skinks, which is now pretty much my dream pet! (along with everything else I want)
I also find it very admirable that you are a stay at home mom. I've recently felt an interest in becoming one myself. Really unexpected of myself. Of course i'm only 18, so i'll need to work for a while anyway and also actually have kids, but still :)
