So! I started trying to get some overlays for my characters... last year and had kind of stalled out on it. I got some absolutely lovely sketches done by , with permission to finish them, but I just have no idea what kind of markings to do on Daniel here.

This is the original design I did last year. You can see that I'm pants at this.

What I'm looking for is somebody to design and draw some markings for this overlay. Pretty simple! I still plan to do the shading and finishing myself, unless you really want to try to match the style I used for this guy here.

The character this is based on, and whose palette should be used, is this guy. (Here's just the image ref for convenience.) He's not flashy or magical, so I want a naturalistic style to the markings.

I have sP and CSC to spend on this, whatever you prefer! I expect somewhere in the 500-1000 CSC range (depending on complexity) for your design work. Remember, I'm not asking you to do any sketching, lineart or shading.

P.S. I will totally buy other, human art for sP/CSC too. I'm in the process of redoing my character refs so hit me up if you're interested for the most up-to-date ones.

Oh, and if you're interested in doing marking design work like this, I have some other characters I'd like designed as a hawk and winged snake, they just don't have any finished line art to work on.

Sure, that's be great! The image up there is linked to the bigger version. Let me know if you need things separated out differently for whatever reason. (I figure with the way it is you can make a clipping mask from the alpha and set the lines to multiply on top.)

so I have two right now! one and two One was based on your image and the other was on owl markings! No feelings hurt if you dont like either! I also have the PDF file so I can make changes if you the like idea and want to add / take away from one too! Just let me know!

Ooh, I really like the owl one! (You did well on the one based on mine too, I just didn't have any interesting ideas in the fist place, haha.) That's the kind of thing I was hoping for. I wish the green edging showed up better on the dark part of the back, though. Maybe the green on the feathers could have a little edge of the cream color so that it pops more? I also think that back legs are a little plain. Really good so far, though!

That looks great! I think that helped balance it out a lot. It's definitely the kind of thing I was imagining in my head but couldn't pull off myself, hehe. One thing I'd like to see would maybe be for the green to fade into the dark brown feather patterns on the legs - like, have the first couple of dark brown rows be darker greens? But I could do that kind of tweak myself, too (if you don't mind that). And we need to talk about payment too! I have the CSC (or sP if you prefer, but I don't think anyone does, haha), I just need to know what you had in mind.
