I was looking at my friend Pestilence's profile and I realised that now her pet names have cleared all her pet buttons go to pets that are not hers.

My suggestion is that it would be really nice if someone from staff could check the deceased users profiles after their pets clear.

I don't know how realistic this idea is because I only know 3 people who are no longer with us but there could be a really big list.

(I would so love to see Pestilence's profile working again but I don't know if that is an image hosting problem and getting staff to check all the profile code seems a big ask).

That doesn't sound at all practical.

I wouldn't mind seeing deceased users' profiles reset to default, but I do think it's a lot of extra work to go in and make sure links are right and all that on a custom profile.

Speaking as someone who has one of 's names, I also don't mind that a link from her profile might lead to one of my pets if staff prefers not to have to mess with old profiles (though I obviously don't speak for everyone so my opinion could always be the minority. But clearly it's just an old link considering the profile says the user is deceased).

The shame of the button links is now you can't see her pets. You'd have to work out their names and then go to them individually where as from the profile would be a lot easier.

The issue is that people are linking pet buttons to pet names instead of ID number. It could be switched over but would require someone getting on the account to do so. Anything with image host problems or broken images is something that is not easily remedied.

This doesn't seem practical as the issue would also apply to inactive accounts that did a custom pet block instead of the default one on their profile.

You can always see what someone's actual pet names are by going to their battle stats link (e.g. https://subeta.net/games/battle/stats.php?user=Pestilence), so there are ways around a custom pet block that no longer links properly if you wanted to view pet profiles.
