The Rainyday Ethereal Headpiece. [preview=Rainyday Ethereal Headpiece]

This thing that is currently on my avi. Don't get me wrong - I love it! But it's like this dream catcher halo sort of thing, and I'm wondering if it's actually a thing in real life somewhere or if it's just some idea the artist came up with. Also, I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in general discussion, so I just went ahead and stuck it here.

here is ok, but you're more likely to get a better response in Human Avatar forum instead of here or General, IMO. That's where the fashion forward of Subeta tend to hang.

The Subeautique designer Rainyday does create some interesting fantasy elements that are just plain gorgeous and are not necessarily real clothing items. I mean... how would you fasten that? It pretty much has to float there by magic.

She has done impossibles in many of her sets. For this particular item, I can give you my own 2 CSC. She may have intended that this be a halo to go with her transparent wings. Just like the wings seem magical and etherial and all spiritual like, this headpiece catches magical dreams right where you'd expect them to congregate and the halo shape emphasizes good-ness. The sheer force of sprituality bombarding outward from your HA at the time you are wearing the whole set, this keeps it in the air.

Mm. I figured it wouldn't really belong in Human Avatar since the post focuses more on the item and it's implications in reality rather than the Subetan avatar. From your post count though I would expect that you'd know quite a bit more about it than I do though haha. I'll try to keep that in mind for the future.

I could see it being woven into the hair, potentially. Maybe it wouldn't be quite that large, but people have been able to do some crazy things with their hair.

The wings are part of the reasons I'd called it a halo myself. I suppose if it had been a part of a more Indian-themed set it would have had a totally different feel to it. Also, just because I want to throw this out there - turns out the actual definition of ethereal is "extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world." It doesn't actually have anything to do with spirituality, although the key items of the set do emanate it (which is one of the things I so love about it).

oh ha ha heehee. I'm just talky and have been amusing myself here for a long time so there's no particular merit to my stars. Pay no attention to the HA behind the curtain forumposting stars....

I've never seen anyone from India wear anything like it.

Fair enough. >u>

-shrugs- I have no idea. On that one I'm thinking more a variant of stereotypes and not actual culture, modern or past.
