Rather odd idea for a new pet.

I sort of want another clown/monster/jester based one like we have with Waradors but more animal then humanoid? I just kind of want a really cute looking happy clown monster thing.

Something Soft looking and sort of cute looking: -Link- Sorry They arent colored, I couldn't think of a good color scheme that would fit it.

I don't know, what do you guys think?

-EDIT- If you guys have any ideas for what it should look like please let me know! My design wasn't really a design suggestion as much as a “this is what I'm talking about” though if you want to go off it feel free.

Idea by : -The frill around its neck acting like a frilled lizard’s. -it puffs out to look bigger if threatened or just to sun itself. -sketch of it: -link-

Some more sketches of the thing -Link- Bipedal design instead of a snake tail and a bow that ends in arms instead of a neck frill -Link-

it's adorable even though IMO it's insufficiently evil for a clowny thing. We can't just allow clowns to pretend to be innocent and friendly when we know they're not.

Right now as it's drawn I don't think it has enough of an appeal to be a subetapet on it's own. It can always be used as an overlay for one of your own pets, or maybe as a one-off Experiment. If you are interested in developing this idea, in the past pet suggestions that fuse more than one ongoing idea here in Suggestions-Pets tend to get done more than ones that are just one idea.

Not very many pets come with clothing, so the ruff is kinda not subetalike. Where it is could be a place for gills instead.

Experiment pets aren't usually entirely cute so it would need some spikes or fangs or something.

Thank you very much for saying my design was adorable! Though I'm not sure about all clowns being evil. The reason we view clowns as evil was because of Stephen King's IT. Before that they actually were just an innocent kids thing. Its kind of weird to think that at one point children adored clowns.... Though of course I did have some very loose inspiration from a clown monster from a b-type horror movie for this design. so, ya know. It probably has a mouth full of needle-like teeth or something, tricking you into thinking its adorable then biting your jugular when you go to pet it xD

my design was more of a "general idea" of what I meant then what I think they should look like. Something like a animal mixed with a clown, I went for more of a bunny look to it. I literally could not draw something up that would be remotely good enough to actually be a pet, I do not have the talent in the slightest. I really don't xD

Also Thank you for the feed back!

I am considerably older than Mr. King's novel and no neighborhood kid nor anykid in my school liked clowns. Clowns are a rare subject of party and casual conversation and I haven't found anyone who liked clowns as a kid yet. The idea that kids have ever liked clowns is just what the clowns WANT adults who somehow survived their malign influence to think.

That's cool, I'm not saying they weren't scary before that, IT just made it a super popular trend. Evil clowns did exist before that, La femme de Tabarin is an example of a play from the 1800s with murder clowns.

We need to stop clowning around and push the big red nose button to make this pet design happen. Also, I think clowns can be adorable and funny xD

, awesome!

, I see what you did there xD

, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I also love the pun. xD

I do have a question for all of you though, What do you guys think it should look like? My design was kind of just a quick thing I sketched up to put the idea out, but if you want to work off that feel free, I’ll also gladly sketch out any ideas you guys have. I was also thinking of it maybe having a mouth similar to Tokomon’s, Like a cute 3 ish shaped mouth when closed but when opened it has extremely sharp monster teeth?

Yeah I have no idea honestly. I have to say I really like the neck ruffle though (it doesn't have to be "clothing," it could be like a frilled-neck lizard and unfold into a neck ruffle. omg clown lizard, that sounds adorable). Your design is honestly really cute and I want ten of it but really I'll settle for anything because some people don't think 2 carnival-themed pets is enough and those people will totally eat up an excuse to make another (hint: the people is me).

I don't like to talk about that phase of my life (but yes, the answer is yes I do mean down) :'D

I'm in the same boat as you, though I still don't think my design would really be good enough to be a pet on subeta. [small]those people are also me.[/small]

I'm all for a clown inspired pet. I too think they can be adorable and don't have to be scary. I have a custom pet that is a clown (pet made for my grandfather who liked clowns) - Charlie Belle

“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2

, do you have any ideas as far as what you'd like to see in a clown pet?

Also that is a really cute clown owl. I love the little nose on a string!

I LOVE IT. But yeah, something like that. Because I really like neck ruffles in general (I mean, I don't think I could ever like make an HA with one but I do really love them) but if staff wants to avoid clothing then A+ that's the way I'd do it

And it makes a good basis for basic pet vs. a one-off experiment because you can showcase the cute lil neck ruffle and then have the Nightmare color have its frills open ready to attack! It'd also be really easy to open the frills in other non-scary recolors and do something like this for maybe glade. Maybe they sometimes open their frills when startled and they could include that in the storm color (plus hey, there's a free fun fact for the subetapedia article)~

, fair enough xD

, I think a ruffle simmilar to -this- would look good on your current one. But gold or white instead of red and a golden trim.

I definitely think thats probably the only reason they'd open them, to either make them selves seem bigger and more intimidateing while scared, or to like sun them selves. I also love those comics, they are so sweet. I think for a glade one it might have like a blooming flower around it's neck perhaps.
