I actually just joined today, and my strongest pet is a 272 Raticate. Not much going on for me just yet.

Since posting I evolved my Pidgeotto and got a Raticate with better moves. I just reached level 8 through evolving some worms, now I'm missing stardust to make my strongest pokemon stronger.

You can add one of your Pokemon to a gym by visiting it and hitting a button in the bottom left corner of the screen IF there is an empty spot in the gym. The number of spots in the gym is determined by the gym level; a level 2 holds 2, level 3 holds 3, etc. If your team owns the gym and it is full, you can battle it to raise it's total prestige by defeating at least one pokemon. Higher prestige helps defend it against opposing teams and helps level it up so players can add more defenders.

I haven't played in like two weeks because I'm out of balls and it's way to hot for me to want to go outside. Sorry I'm not bringing my best to the team.

I'm late to the Pokemon Go train due to living in Canada and not getting the game until last weekend, but I've been having a lot of fun with it.

I hadn't seen the leaders until now -- they all look really cool!

Thank you. I just joined the gym at our bank and on my way home I might be able to join one near a church in a nearby village. :)

I reached level 7 today and could push my Raticate to 311. I can still push him once I reach level 8, I have so many candies for him.

I've noticed that at my old school there are five pokestops, I'm really curious how this plays out once the summer break is over.

[Edit] My poor Raticate got destroyed and our nearby village is run over by Valor.

here are my strongest - I haven't trained anyone though, just from evolving or hatching.

The strongest pokemon I've seen so far was a level 273 pidgeotto which sadly got away before I managed to catch it.

I'm just happy that Eevees are somewhat common, I just need 6 more to evolve my first one. They are my last hope on having strong pokemon I really like. (Though Pidgeot is also great. 😊)

I should come visit, I'd love to own a bunch of gyms for longer than a few minutes xD

I suggest that you don't worry about training anyone right now. catch everyone you can, and keep leveling up. as you get to a higher level, you'll see stronger people. The eevee evolutions are probably your first somewhat strong pokemon you'll have access to - vaporeon being the strongest of those.

Pidgeys are nice to catch if you save up a bunch of them, then when you get a lucky egg as a level up reward, if you can evolve like 20 of them during that, you'll gain a couple levels :)

I guess there's an advantage to living near a small city. Even my weak Raticate could take over a gym for an hour. xd

That's what I've been doing so far... Just catch everything, no matter how annoying and repetitive. But after playing 5 hours the past three days I feel a little bit burned out. (But I also really wanna have an evolved eevee...). ^-^

this is a great site to use to help you find pokemon (especially because the footprints are bugged for most if not all people right now)

I found a charizard on that site last night and drove about 10 minutes to it, but when I got there, it ran away from both me and my gf. I was pretty disheartened. I went to an event at the zoo on saturday night from 7-10pm which was all about pokemon go. they set up lures at all of the stops every half hour and we had a good time. aparently 3k people were there which is crazy.

It seems like the site only shows pokemon in the US, but ten minutes away from my home you'd be literally in the middle of nowhere with no signal so it wouldn't help much anyway. :)

Aw that's awful. I really don't get why they had to add the running away feature, let us waste all our pokeballs if we want. xD

We were making our rounds again today and in a very small town at a church there was a mystic gym with very weak pokemon, under 300 CP. When I got there there was already a guy, so I decided to take a walk on the cementery at first. When I got back the gym was taken over by Team Instinct! :) So I could add my Pidgeotto and it's going strong for two hours now. :) I'm really hoping he can survive a few days, considering the church is a little hidden and the church kids are on a field trip for a week. c:

it works in any area that have pokemon go, but i doesn't work so well in not very populated areas.

yeah I wish I could have caught him. I am now level 20 so I have ultra balls now at least.

oh nice! the gyms around here are getting strong. I can beat some but some are up over 1800. I'd love to own a gym for that long :p good luck!

It's so hard to get into gyms, hardly any instinct around here so even if I find an Instinct gym and place a pokemon there its soon taken over by Valor

Why did everyone choose Instinct? I did because out of the team descriptions I thought Instinct fitted me best :P My best pokemon is a CP 1051 Lapras. Hatched her from an eg with about 500CP and have been powering her up

I let my husband pick which team we'd be on. He picked Instinct. I don't regret it. :)

We don't really hold gyms for very long, but that's not the point for me. Usually if another team is taking down a gym I'll offer to help. xD EXP PLEASE!

I just want the coins from having a pokemon in gym! lol

Just got to Level 15 recently. Trying to get to 20 before I evolve/power up any more pokemon. Need to find me some high CP pokemons.

Also, I picked Instinct because being intuitive is more important to me than being strong or wise. Also when I think of Zapdos, I think of storms, which oddly, is comforting to me.

So far my highest CP pokemon is a 767 Magmar.
