As I was going through the 'all items' tab for the 'held' layer in the wardrobe, I noticed a couple of country flags and I thought that was really neat. But I was really really hoping there was one for Australia, and there isn't. :(

So this got me thinking, while I know the country flags such as the French Flag are special items/prizes from something, there should be more of them. Even if they're just released into an NPC shop, or made special items/prizes for something, we should have more!! I would love to have an Australia flag, I'd probably never take it off of my HA. We can do flags for some of the other more populated countries, too! It might be fun for people to show off where they're from or rep a country they really like. Just a thought.

[edit]This is now more a topic towards getting flags for SUBETA PLACES instead of places irl. That just makes more sense all around, and would still be just as cool.

As awesome as that would be... Subeta has kind of been drifting away from that idea of real world counties/holiday themes. Granted yes we DO have a bunch of items on site based around real world countries/holidays but then again these were made years ago before major changes have been made.

I don't think this would work for Real Life places, but flags for subeta places would be pretty neat.

Australia doesn't exist on Subeta

I'm against this. Because:

1. Main reason, this is subeta not the real world. If we get any flags let it be subeta ones. I would love some flags for the main lands but perhaps also for the smaller groups of people who live within a land.

2. And bias: I live in a country hardly anyone seems to be able to locate, some people even confuse the name of the country with the one of our capital ... so it would probably would fall under the "less populated countries" in your opinion. Just because people are from a small ass country doesn't mean they don't have the right to rep a flag. Yet this is usually how it goes: usa, canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, China, Russia and the rest of the world doesn't exist. My point is: usually the country pride is for max 10 countries and it sucks if you live in one of the 184 others. And you can't possibly go all the way with flags. Just don't do it.

Okay okay, I know that Australia isn't on subeta...duh. I was unaware that the flags were really old, I figured they weren't new by any means but I didn't know they were 'really old.'

I didn't mean to offend anyone by bringing this up, or to start something, it was simply an idea. It's true that it wouldn't really be fair to those who are in the smaller countries, I wasn't trying to leave anyone out, just trying to find a way to make it sort of work so that there didn't have to be a ton of items made. I didn't thinka bout it thoroughly before, and you're right, there really isn't a way to work it.

But that being said, I do love the idea of having flags for places on subeta. I'd love to see how they designed the riverside and shadowglen flags. oh man that would be rad.

Nah, it's cool! I don't think you offended anyone, or started anything bad. S&I is the kind of forum where people tend to give you their view on the pros and cons of your idea without much sugar-coating.

That said, I'd be down for some Subeta flags. Bonus points if they can figure out how to add them without eating up the whole HA background, so you can have a background that matches the flag? Sacred Lands themed background layered with a Sacred Lands flag, or something. I dunno, it's hot and I'm rambling.

If you want to display your IRL country's flag on your profile, there are probably small pixel-flags or something online? Like the ones on the Flagcounter banners.

I agree, bonus points if we can have a flag and a background. That would be pretty great. <3 This should become a thing.
