I must be in the minority here, but I have so many problems with this show!!
Yes, it has a good cast, good soundtrack and is ascetically visually pretty BUT that seems to be masking a poorly written AWFUL story. There has not been a single scene that blows me away and makes me want to recommend it. In fact i cant even tell you a stand out episode or scene, its all very forgettable. I can however tell you how AMAZING the score and cinematography is. It has this way of feeling so familiar and so nostalgic that it just makes me want to watch OTHER shows.
I feel like I'm about to start a very long winded rant so I'm going to stop myself here. Also I'm aware that the show has been very well received so please be kind when telling me I'm wrong haha.

To be honest, there seems to be a lot of badly written television shows and films being produced, especially in popular media. That being said, Stranger Things was refreshing to me, because in my opinion, it was pretty decently written. Not saying it's the most well-written show out there, but it's definitely not the worst.
Just recently I've been getting into the theories surrounding Eleven and her relationship to the 'demogorgon'. In D&D, the actual Demogorgon has two heads, each of which has it's own mind and personality that "strive to dominate (and even kill) each other, but are unable to because they are aspects of one another". This has such an interesting parallel with how when Eleven attempted to destroy the demogorgon, she herself seemed to be destroyed with it.
Theories aside, while watching the show I was also totally blown away with the work that must have gone into making the setting authentically 'retro/vintage'. Like, all the cars that were parked along the street, all the clothes, and even the architecture was fairly authentic... How bananas!
Argh, yes I'm a bit in love with Stranger Things. I think it's fantastic and so hype that season 2 was announced. I seriously can't wait for more. The atmosphere is so great, but I also really love the characters.

I've seen so many people raving about this show. I might need to give it a try c:
Just seen episode one. Music sounds like a ripoff of Tron (the newer one). Which is good because I really liked Tron's soundtrack. Not really seeing anything that wows me. Will give it a few more eps.
edit: Watched all of season one. Okay, yeah, it's good. Not too serious or dark or scary, which is alright. The acting, especially the girl who plays Eleven, is great. Excited for season two!
I need to get something of my chest:
SPOILER (click to toggle)
FORGET BARB. THERE IS NO BARB. BARB IS NOT A BIG DEAL.
STOP PROJECTING MORE ONTO A THROW-AWAY, TWO-DIMENSIONAL, SUBVERTED-TROPE THAN THERE IS.
Whew! Sorry. I just cannot deal with all the Barb crazy on the internet and in my real life. Barb isn't a developed character, she isn't a heroine, she isn't feminist Jesus. It upsets me to see strong, complex women identify with a flat, sacrificial lamb that we know nothing about. Her only purpose was to be fridged; she goes missing and dies to spur Nancy to action. That's it. We don't know her morals, we don't her likes or dislikes, we don't even know her last name until after she's gone. This hype of Barb as this amazing character was one of the biggest let-downs of my television watching experience as an adult.
lol really? that's a thing?
SPOILER (click to toggle)
She was an annoying character. Like you could tell from a hundred miles away how her story was going to go. Cliched is cliched. I guess people feel so sorry for her character they're making her out to be a bigger deal because they can't handle the writing is cliched af? D8
I love this show so much? I finished the season in two days.
I AGREE
SHE WAS SO OBNOXIOUS. GO AWAY INTERNET.
Thank goodness. I needed to find people who aren't all about Barb.
Omg, the only reason I watched the first season is because everyone is talking about it!! One of my sisters friends made their house like the one in the show with all the lights and the alphabet for a Halloween party , it looked dope. I like it though, its creepy and scary yet good (I'm a baby when it comes to scary) Trying to get my boyfriend to watch it!

Can't wait for Season 2!
I love Stranger Things. It's an homage to the 80's and that genre of film.

I bought Netflx and I binge watched Stranger Things all in one day (the whole 1st season) and when I was done, I didn't feel anything towards it at first. This was probably only because I watched all of it right away lol because the next week I was like damn I want more. Does anyone relate? >_<
So excited for season 2 though!! My favorite character is my gal Eleven obviously ~

Re-watched it recently with my mom, I'm glad she loved it as much as I did. The kids were absolutely fantastic, I love all of them argh.
Did anyone see the kids cameo at the golden globes open? Eleven rapping was the cutest thing. xD
Big fan of Stranger Things, can't wait for the next season! Did anyone happen to catch Finn Wolfhard (Mike) playing video games with Arin and Dan on Guest Grumps?
Did you guys see the teaser for season 2???? I hate to be that person, but I literally yelled out ELEVEN when I saw her lmao. Super interested to see what that creature (???) is at the end, and super bummed that I have to wait 10 months to find out dammit. LINK
