The items are taking 2 slots of the locked items and I think it could be nice if we could redeem the items and get a permanent buffs with the items as icons for each items instead of keeping them in the inventory forever..

If this happened, someone who had both and changed them into a permanent buff couldn't get the comatose lizard achievement without other changes also.

To be honest, I'd rather have the two items locked in my inventory than two tiny icons permanently in the "Buffs" line in the widget. As it stands now, anything that shows up there is limited time and I know to check when I see something show up.

I prefer having them locked too. Speaking as someone who owns both and had to take one out of my inventory after years to work on the achievement, I'd be really upset if I had to file a ticket or something to try and have the buff removed later on.

I guess I have my discount card locked regardless, it doesn't bother me having another item or two locked at all times. I don't lock that many things that they take up too much space, even without a GA.

I'm not liking this suggestion.

Subeta already killed off the mystical donadak/montre plushies and the identity star shuriken, effectively killing off these neat magical items and bits of potential Subeta lore. We don't need more lore-related artifacts to be destroyed. I'm all for keeping the physical traps to catch those pesky lizards, instead of having them turned into a run-of-the-mill buff icon.

I think it would be better if they allowed us to have more locked items.

Then, maybe we should completely do away with locked items?

I mean, the concept of locked items was pretty much for two types of items - loyalty boxes, and lizard spray/trap.

I like having mine locked. shrugs I'd rather have them as locked items personally than buffs.

I like this suggestion a lot. I hate having items locked in my inventory because they clutter it and take up part of my inventory count.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to sell them.

I like locked items because it isn't as permanent as a permanent buff would be. I think the point about the lore is a good one as well. It adds to the fun of the game to have the lizard minion stuff be actual items.

Maybe we could have locked items not take up part of the inventory count, or raise the number of locked items. There could also be an option to not show locked items on the inventory page in case people don't want to constantly look at them there.

Could have the lizard things be redeemable buffs, OR as items.. they work either way. And if you want to remove the buff maybe you can go to Merana and she'll remove all buffs or something. :)

Maybe if the Locked section of our inventory was handled the way we do spoilers on threads? That way you could click the bar to see what you have there or to hide it, but it wouldn't always be in the way visually. That's my main problem with locked items. They are a visual distraction.

I live in MN, and whatever you've heard... It's much worse.

Locked items keep it out of trades, quickstock, fragmentizer, gifting, etc. beyond just those special items. I've locked one or two items before QS before to keep from having to scroll through and select 'Keep'. Also, I know I have a tendency to keep two SubQ invites locked in my inventory so that I neither sell them nor forget about them in my vault, then I redeem if/when I ever buy anything from that shop. I've also known friends to previously keep items locked in their inventory if it was a gift that meant a lot to them (but personally I don't look at my inventory enough for that to apply to me).

Just playing devil's advocate - technically there are a couple other reasons to keep the lock feature!

I think that the number of locked items we can have at one time should be increased, like Dew and legalcat said.

I love this suggestion! I would really love if I can just redeem them and get this spray out of my inventory. It makes so much more sense than having them sit there.

I don't care for having locked items in my inventory long term so the total # of locked items is moot, I'd rather have 0 locked items.

If we need to, we can make the random events change their %s for the various outcomes, so the comatose minion can be possible even if you have one or both sprays.

I don't see a problem with a temporary buff from redeeming them. 6 months or so for the benefit of having two extra slots, if you're filled to the brim with Loyalty boxes and a discount card or something, wouldn't be unreasonable.

Personally, I would love to see the discount cards and lizard trap stuff maybe get their own little section on the site. You could place and remove items from there to activate or remove their buff from your account. I think it would help new players learn about these kind of items once they find the page and it would also give more chances to create these kind of items. The whole buff feature has tons of untapped potential and I would love to see more stuff added to it.

They definitely aren't worth their current price tag, but this wouldn't be a bad thing if they had a price drop.

I love this idea! I don't know if these types of items are something staff wants to promote though, they were made so long ago and they don't really fit in the current economy. But I could see it as a neat site feature in the future, with some new and fun items added to it, after some other projects have been finished up first.

Subeta is a game that positively throws items at you. Many folks like the GA for the autopricing which doesn't motivate me at all. But having 250 items, that's worth it to me right there. Two items is such a small amount, I'm indifferent to the original Suggestion.

The sub-suggestion to remove inventory locks altogether is not cute. I also use Inventory Lock to create a queue of items to feed my eaterpet, to remind myself of books I need to read to everybody even though I only happen to have one of them just now, and to mark out items that I have stumbled across that are at fragmentizable price and rarity but don't have the time or pain budget to spam-buy right now. Inventory lock is very useful, don't make the game suck because you don't use it yourself.

The idea that the lizard catching items, they're not worth the asking price is a pretty weird one. Maybe you're very unlucky?
