I screech my teeth. I don't know the real term, or an english word for it, but what I do, I bite and move my teeth on empty...I am sure I'm not even describing it right...but maybe someone knows what I mean. It drives me nuts, it ruins my teeth and I don't know how to stop...help?
Grinding your teeth, I think! I do it too, and I find what helps me so much is chewing gum. That way I can still chomp and move my teeth around, but the gum is much easier on your teeth. Some brands are actually good for your teeth and not just sugar and flavoring, too. I chew Trident (and my favorite flavor is Mint Bliss!), but I'm sure there's others.

I do this too, and have to wear a mouth guard to sleep. You should check with your dentist if the grinding is ruining your teeth :( They might prescribe you a mouth guard too, or at least teach you how to properly massage your jaw to help the muscles relax. Use relaxation techniques if you get stressed often, avoid things like caffeine and alcohol and also check in with a doctor if you can take muscle relaxants when it gets really bad. Something with Thiocolchicoside in it. Good luck ~
OMG, you guys, thank you so much for the help and advice, it makes so happy so hear there are ways to get rid of this nasty habit, especially when it is also hurting my teeth and gums! Thank you both, very helpful! 👍
