From Subetapedia: "Aside from the wetlands, which are home to a wide array of life, Riverside is also known for its rich mining deposits, especially those of precious jewels. This area was especially economically important to the first Human settlers of Subeta, as the wealth of gemstones and precious metals allowed settlers to open a trade relationship with Subeta's native inhabitants. In moderns times, the area still has many operational mines, ..."

If you look to the right of the water tower and above the houses, there's obviously an old mine. It just seems to be asking to be used for something. I'm thinking more of some kind event, like the Excavation Site in the Sacred Lands or the Crypts in Shadowglen.

might be interesting, but I'm afraid there would be too much overlap with this, it just really depends what the mines brought that is new or different

would be kind of interesting... it could bring about mining for the ores in sable smithy or new ores altogether.. could bring in a new type of quest or a way to introduce a possible new color, or even a location for the donadak. there's a bunch of potential ideas tbh,

I could see this turning into several cool things, even aside from the great ideas mentioned above.

For a plot, I could definitely see "ancient evil and/or great treasure discovered" or even a sort of archaeological discovery leads to learning more about the history of Subetan civilization type storylines for more complex plots. For something simpler, we could have a "oh no mine collapse!" situation that could lead to one (or even several) minigames: the one I was imagining was a maze-like game, get the minecart to the exit. (For the smaller plot I definitely think prizes should be participation based, especially if it's minigame centric, ie submit a score once to get the end prizes. if people think there should be something for biggest participants maybe top 3-10 scores get recognition at the end of the event? Maybe speed of completion affects the outcome of the plot (although not prizes)? I dunno just spitballing here)

Or maybe it could just be mine themed mini games (Mine cart maze, memory or match three with ores and gems, even just a game where you can click x many spots per day and have a chance to find items or sp which could totally tie in with the archaeological dig plot)

I'm sure I had more things to say here but I am losing my train of thought in sleepiness so I may be back to add things tomorrow.

EDIT Right! Back to the point! It could also be something a bit like bird watching, where you have to find the right ore to get a rock/mineral/gemstone. I would love tying it in with the swordsmithing from the Sable Smithy, maybe that could be expanded and made separate from genetech combos? I think it could be cool to see the swordsmithing as something like the bakery, maybe with separate steps--you need the right ore + the sword mold + some other stuff (the gems/leather/etc) and there's a couple steps/maybe even games: Heating the metal, actually forging the sword, sharpening it, etc.

they/them/theirs, please.

It doesn't even need a super special plot to exist - can be just like the brewery and we can have free rocks.

Actually I could have sworn that when the Sable Smithy was added we could use the ores and stuff to make weapons. I was so positive that was a thing. A few months ago I thought I'd try it out and was really confused when I realized it wasn't a thing. Now I'm thinking my brain might have imagined it.

I'd also be pretty happy with getting gemstones because I think the regular gemstones we have, not in jewelry or the raw ones in the Sable Smithy, are CS items.

Loop, there are weapons you can make with Genetech with the supplies from Sable Smithy! I don't know if there's a direct link but if you plug in different Sable Smithy items into the "notes" search of Subetalodge, it'll tell you what Genetech items you can make with them..

I fully support this! Especially if it's a mini plot that adds a new area - the mine itself, obviously. Could lead to a new color (isn't there a suggestion for a Stone color? That could be worked into this). Could even be a thing where, like Coda Caves, we can only come once a day to mine ores, "to preserve the integrity of the mine".

It could add new ores, it could have ores from Sable Smithy... maybe those new ores are needed to make the Stone pets (I'm thinking something like the Steamwork/Nostalgic pets. Maybe Mathis could have an option to make a "stone facsimile of one of your current pets", but it takes time, then you get the little statue, and then blahblahblah, you can turn your pet Stone).
