Being a sucker for cooking manga, I love it. Manga-wise I'm partway through the tournament. Love how they "battle" with flavour and those reactions from the judges! The scene where they go to the amusement park? "We'll be friends forever!" omg

Other than Soma I adore Nikumi and Takumi the most (they have no chill and I love it).

Also that side story about the fried chicken? It looked so unfairly delicious ;-;

Ahh yeah I loved food wars! I haven't read the manga though, just the anime. Have you watched/read both, or just read the manga? I was wondering if it differed greatly between the two?

yusss someone who understands!! I've read further along than the current anime (and started reading before watching). For the most part, it's so true to the source! The only difference I noticed (there might be more but I sure couldn't tell) was a small side story in the manga where Megumi and Soma teach a cooking class to kids. It's somewhere around the tournament time so they probably didn't have time for it, but I noticed they included the characters on one of the end cards or something? also the manga has little bonuses like recipes (one glance and I'm like nope...not happening) and contest results

Oh it sounds definitely worth the read! I still can't wait for the second season, so this will tide me over until then.

I really enjoyed how Nikumi's character has developed. I assumed she would just be a one time rival character, but she's actually has awesome character development. I love her too!

I watched the first season of the anime, and I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I'm trying to watch the second season, but the episodes feel really bland to me compared to the first season's.
