When a user changes their username, it can get very confusing as to where the user disappeared to. To clear up this confusion, there should be some sort of alert for when a user on your friend list changes their name. The alert could be an event.

This might be nice, but if they're on your friend list, it wouldn't be too bad to just comment and ask who they are if you don't recognize their UN. I could go either way really.

I know friend feed is a little abandoned but if not it seems like a good place for such things - or just kill it off entirely and then I'd be ok with an event. Might need a way to turn if off for anyone with x,000 friends, but that's less of an issue on Subeta vs a bigger site.

People have different reasons for changing their UN. If they change it and don't let their friends know, maybe its because they forgot or didn't think to do it, or maybe its because they simply didn't want to. Making an event would be bringing attention to it that they may not want. Having it show up on friend feed, could also be a problem, but at least its more discrete and something someone would have to actually be paying attention to in order to notice.

Unlike a lot of others on this board I actually love this idea. I have some friends that change their name a lot and it would be nice.

Support this but make it optional. Give the person the choice of making a event for it.

Maybe once you change your un you could get the option to ping your (favorite) friends? Just like in the forums.
