i feel like i'm always on here complaining, i'm so sorry. but i just need some words of encouragement, because i just want to give up.
so, pretty much what is happening is...
i've been out of work since around February 2016. i'm currently going to college, and that's the reason i quit my recent job, because i never had time for school. i live with my dad, and don't have to pay rent. but i do have to buy my own clothes, food, and any other hygiene things i need. since i've been out of work, and not having any savings, i've been living off my credit cards pretty much. i have about a $1000 limit, and it's already used up. so now i really don't have money, and i'm in debt of a thousand bucks. during this time, i've been applying places like crazy, and going to all my interview, and no one is hiring me. i just had another interview at a department store today, and hoping they'll give me a chance.
i know this isn't a big deal, and there's worse things going on in the world. i'm just overwhelmed, and want to give up.
That sounds so rough. :c Financial troubles are the worst because they can be so draining and make you feel just so down in the dumps. :/ I'm sorry I can't really offer any advice or any useful input, but just try to take care of yourself and don't let the situation get you /too/ down. :c <3
thanks hun. i'm trying not to think about it, but wah. i got bad news today too. the interview i went to the other day, they emailed me today saying that "they need to move on with their employment search". i don't think that's a valid enough answer, so i think i might call, and get a real explanation. by the way, i love your avatar!
working and going to school is hard. I found that I liked using a website o-desk, it allows you to basically work freelance at your computer. there are jobs for everyone from people with html abilities, to simple data-entry/secretary jobs, to artistic or writing. you get to name your price per hour and everything, so it might be able to help ease some of your financial burden.
oh that's good to now. do you do that? i don't know how to do any of those html things, but i'm pretty good at writing!
wow, awesome. i think i might do that then! thank you so much for telling me about this. just curious, no need to answer if you don't want too; but how much do you make on average with that site?
like I said, you are sort of working as an independent contractor, so you decide your own rate. For individual assignment type jobs, you can charge a flat rate, or they also have software that can be used to track your hourly work and you can just decide how much $ you want per hour. when I was in college and I just needed spare money, I started a data entry job for about $5 an hour. This job was something I could do in between class/wherever I wanted so it usually added up to about 60 or 80 dollars a week, which helped me get by.
A lot of schools do work study as well. Ask about it at your school's information office, and they'll point you in the right direction. Make sure you fill out the FAFSA and apply for scholarships, grants, and even loans to get enough cash to get by in the meantime. Yes, loans suck, but it'd be better to have a good loan with good terms than to have mounds and mounds of credit card debt with butthead debtors trying to collect. Student loans only have to be paid back after you graduate, and don't typically have very high interest.
