Purchased clothing, does not show up in Wardrobe. I'm assuming this site updates right away, because so does every other website. So this is clearly a site issue. What date has been set to fix this issue so there is no waiting involved?
The wardrobe is cached so it takes a bit to update.
So is everything else, but that's not an excuse for the delay.
But it turns out that it wasn't even going to the right link. Apparently V3 is the latest version, which the website does not send NEW USERS. I spent 15 minutes waiting for the clothing to show up under V1 Wardrobe. It wasn't until I tried clicking "use this set" when I get the warning (not before, after I clicked it) that there was an apparent move to a new version.
Further more, this site seems very not user friendly to new people. It usually does not take me long to figure out navigation of a website, but I see no area to click on quests to go back for quests from Sarah (or any other quests).
This is the link that the Wardrobe takes me to when I go through
"Wow, that is going to look great on you! In order to wear it, you need to move the item from your Inventory to your Wardrobe. Just like you did with the food and toy earlier, you can click your wearable and select the appropriate option from the list on the following page. Once moved, it will then be available to wear in the "Clothes" area of your wardrobe. Don't be afraid to play around with your human avatar's features and outfits; the possibilities are almost endless!"
section of the tutorial.
where did you get that link, the tutorial? I'm pretty sure this is being rewritten right now, I'll make sure knows to update the tutorial link though. were the clothes in the v3 wardrobe? honestly the v3 wardrobe is a work in progress, once it's completely finished, the caching update time may be reduced - I'm not sure. That's just something we have to deal with though, if the cache updates too frequently, I'd think it would just cause a lot of strain on the servers.
since you're new and the tutorial is being redone, any feedback you have would really be helpful. what else are you struggling with? what else do you think should be included?
A link for the quests would be a start. Not somewhere hidden within a couple of links. Like under the main Subeta drop down menu, there could be a spot to put in a link to quests. Because right now, there's no real way of getting back to quests (or tutorial) that I can see without keeping an older tab open.
I'm only really at the customize your avatar part because of the issues with the wardrobe. I'll be sure to write more down and pop back in if I come across anything.
Edit: "Once you are comfortable with the human avatar system, you can move on to customizing your hair or even uploading your own tattoo."
Hair link: https://subeta.net/wardrobe.php#editor:hair
Tattoo link: https://subeta.net/explore/tattoo.php
Do not work.
There's also no futher step after clicking "I am done! Next step", as it takes you right back to the same page of the tutorial "Wow, that is going to look great on you!".
the tutorial is known to have some issues with it, and I'm not sure hair or tattoos have worked in a good while. hopefully it can all get taken care of though, things do definitely need to be friendlier to new users.
yeah if you encounter anything else, just keep listing it :)
Seeing as how I can't continue on with the tutorial, I'm pretty much done. The Tutorial needs to be up and running properly before I can continue, seeing as how I'm pretty much confused. I honestly don't understand how a Tutorial just stops working.
that's been known to happen unfortunately.
since you're stuck in the tutorial, I think your best option is to just wander around the site.
you can make a thread here which people often help out new users (probably much more effectively than the current tutorial) and for specific questions, you can make a thread here :)
or you can always comment or ping me, I can answer most questions :)
Unless you can tell me what the next step in the Tutorial is supposed to be, I'm pretty much stuck.
You aren't stuck! The tutorial isn't required for gameplay. It's a relatively newish feature (even though it's been neglected with updated links. The site is trying to make itself more user friendly by changing things in the background like coding and whatnot.) Most of us just roamed out into the site and found out what to do on our own, but a few nice users have put up guides throughout most of the forums. Here are a couple that are useful.

Once you spend a couple of days on the site, you'll find it easier to navigate. :)
I do agree that Subeta staff should fix the tutorial or just remove it altogether until it works. It's understandable if there are occasional bugs, but the tutorial currently has a number of significant errors and issues. We can't just handwave these away when they are pointed out, because it seems nearly every person who uses the tutorial is confused, not helped, by it. I have referred 3 of my friends to this site and the tutorial broke for all of them.
For a new user, this tutorial is their first impression of our site. So I think it should be given greater priority. I'm aware the staff coders have a lot on their plate, but I truly feel we should prioritize this more. Subeta is a great, fun website that does so many things right, and yet the tutorial gives a really bad impression.
I am willing to bet a number of users have signed up and stopped playing when they couldn't finish the tutorial, thinking that this website is just too buggy/badly made, when in reality it's the opposite!
Are you a staff member or can relay this to one? I am happy to hear that the tutorial is apparently being "redone", however it was this broken when I joined a month ago, and now it has been a full month and it seems nothing at all has been fixed. I understand that redoing the tutorial will take time. But, in the meantime, staff should at least update the wardrobe link and remove the links to broken features. That should not take very long since it's just updating some links, it should definitely not take over a month.

I'm sorta a staff member! I'm a minimod (I don't really have any power besides moving and locking threads in a specific forum) as far as I know is in charge of redoing the tutorial and it's something she just started working on it. She said she'd take a look at this thread tonight when she gets home. I'm not sure how far along everything is or any ETA of when it'll be done, so if it's going to be awhile, maybe she can quickly update those links. I'm not really certain about specifics though.
How quickly does the cache update? I feel like I've been refreshing forever for my item to show up in the wardrobe.
- Interesting. It was close to an hour before mine showed up...but it's there now.
The wardrobe is usually pretty good to me, so I'm not really sure how long it takes other people, sorry :c
I just purchased "Platinum Stylish Ponytail" from the Pawn shop and used the "add to wardrobe" button thingy. I just spent 600CSC and it's not in my wardrobe.
Edit: It's now 2:12 and it showed up. I bought something else and sorted it from my inventory (without the new button): both items showed up.
(Hope this info helps with coding.)
