Just hit T10, and I'm looking to upgrade my weapon set that it's very bad shape ;u; I am specifically looking at what items I should invest in now and what I should consider saving up for when I hit the higher tiers (the tier set advice thread is outdated and doesn't really go beyond T10 :c )
Current Set
Possibly Working On
^ These are all pretty "buyable," but I am looking towards saving for a staple weapon in higher tier sets. I'm not sure if BTotBO is still a very large part of T11 and T12 battling, or if I should look towards another weapon in its place. Please let me know what would be the best investment to make ^_^
Scrolls
Working on:
I would LOVE to replace the Cobalt Eternals with something else, and I am contemplating swapping the Assassin Scroll with a more reliable multi-use healer scroll. The Assassin Scroll was a random buy when I was looking at scrolls when I was a newb and saw it for a mere 30 mil. I thought it was a good investment at the time and it's been ok for me so far shrug It might be useful for when I pump up my HP, since it heals by %.
I know there's been a lot of T10 set help threads popping up but I lack Rainbow Vortex, the Temple Shard, and BTofBO most users already have and I'm just a little lost on what to focus on first x_x
so you seem to have a good idea of what to work towards.
the somas aren't really to replace anything, it's just nice to have a second blaster, and it's much more useful than blackmoon hand blaster because it blasts into something that is infinite use instead of once per battle. it also has a decent freeze proc and a random curse/blessing proc, and a low steal proc, but those things are more novelties.
the unstable sample syringe can replace any of your attackers really, it's probably the best t10 weapon that's fairly affordable.
the intricate energized helmet should be made with battle tokens, don't worry about buying that. it's not a huge priority but it's nice to have when you can make it
swashbuckle is worthwhile, especially if you don't have trident. imo you should just go for a swash, trident gets a lot of its value because it scales from t1. swash has more reliable healing and slightly better defense, it suffers from a lower overall icon average and no awesome blessing, but it's better than trident in most situations.
definitely keep working on more AP. you may want a more reliable healing scroll like feather explosion or aftershocks perilous whirlpool scrolls aren't bad to have for some freeze chances and fire defense, fatal fire scrolls are good for fire and dark defense, and sancturia exodin scrolls are nice to have - they're like cobalts but different icons.
keep working on the psycho smasher, and maybe shriek of despair too if nightlady comes back or you get a bunch of sP to buy them.
you can survive without RV, STS, and the trident. I honestly hardly ever use my full blockers any more. they may be handy for awhile but after a certain point they aren't handy any more (opponents that heal really need the two attackers against them)
other than the stuff you're working on, your set looks pretty good.
Thanks so much ^_^ I feel a lot better knowing I wasn't too far off target, and that the trident isn't really necessary for T11 and above! I'll purchase both the Soma and Syringe. I'm probably going to replace acorn bomb with the syringe since it's a one hit wonder without any blessings/curses.
Since I've never had full blockers before I've been defeating EH enemies by blocking with scrolls and using two attackers. I'm guessing this strategy ends up being more effective in later tiers c:
And I'll definitely expand my scroll collection, thanks again!
I don't use bombs as it is, acorn bomb is pretty good but often they just take up room.
yeah, full blockers don't buy you many turns in the tough fights and give your opponent an opportunity to heal. they come in handy for awhile, but if what you have going on now is working, there's not an urgent need to buy them for 50m+ and 200m or whatever they are atm.
just remember that as you get into higher tiers, it becomes less about having the "best set" and more about customizing your set to block what your opponent is doing. so having a variety is very useful.
Yeah, I occasionally stalk the battle forums and it seems you higher tiers talk about having a good mix. That's why I decided to buy Soma as well in case it might come in handy down the road ^_^
somas I found most useful against opponents that take awhile. so like meatslab, baenwurath, mutant... ones like those. they really prove more useful than a blackmoon hand blaster because the hand blaster leaves the opponent with a cube which is gone after they use it once. the soma tablets blast the opponent weapon into empty pill boxes, which is infinite use. over the course of the battle, the opponent can use that over and over again, providing you with more chances to heal and get less damage against you
Sounds like the perfect item to pair with the recycle blaster, and I might actually go and try it out next time Surge comes up for me in BQs 8D I've only ever defeated him once as a T9, but I feel more optimistic fighting him with Soma+RB c:
yeah, when you need to blast, it pairs perfectly with the recycle blaster :) hm I think you should be able to beat him more consistently. especially if you had some form of water blocker like or I think, it's been awhile since I've paid attention to icon types of opponents.
you can always try , it's t10 with a very spread amount of defense but it does come in handy for some people
when i was tier 10 my set for most things was MCAB, syringe, sts, reviver, rv, pquill, recycle blaster and the freezie helmet. aftershocks has always been my primary scroll, and i had a frostbite ammy for water based bosses like jaques, surge, the shark, etc.
when u do reach 11 paintbrush blades is a very good one, its in my default set still.
in other words kbbob gives good advice :P

My favorite wind blocker is blessed trident of the banished one because of the water damage, blessing and curse it has. There have been instances where the increased damage and extra heal of the swashbuckle has been more beneficial, especially if an opponent has blessings disabled. The price tag of swash also makes it very appealing, definitely worth picking up if you have the funds.
As for scrolls, aftershocks scroll is my favorite infinite use scroll. I have been sporting skelly lately though for the extra heal it provides. I would definitely swap out the assassin scroll for the aftershocks scroll. Cobalts and sancturia exodin scrolls are very useful OPB scrolls that are good for all battles. Although freezing scrolls are nice, some impossible and extremely hard challengers cannot be frozen. Freezing scrolls are good for specific needs, but cobalt and SE are more like default set scrolls.
