There should be a central place on Subeta to find out what new accounts can or cannot do.

I hang out in Help & Questions a lot and am a know-it-all about most Subetathings, but it's been a decade since I've joined and this is something I don't know.

As far as I can tell or find, there isn't anything in the Rules of Subeta, or in the Frequently Asked Questions & Answers thread. It also doesn't appear to be part of 's welcome spiel in the Welcomes & Introductions subforum. Unless it's like Subeta policy that this is deliberately omitted in order to get new players to file a Ticket in Help?

I would 110% support a newbie guide, so long as it was written well, and placed somewhere where it could be easily found/read!

I don't really understand this, there aren't any things that you can't do just because your account is new that I know of? Though I guess if there is then it's pretty clear it needs to be said somewhere XD.

I think I heard they can't drop pets in the pound for the first few weeks, but other than that I don't know of any restrictions?

I don't believe they can create forum posts for the first 24 hours.

You can't abandon pets at the pound until your account is a month old, apparently. I'm not sure if you can transfer a pet to a friend before then, though. It's been asked a couple of times lately but I haven't actually seen an answer.

But yeah, that's the only thing I know of. It'd be nice if that were more obvious somewhere, but unless there are other things I'm not aware of I don't think it constitutes a list

I'm all for this. It's an issue that was prevalent on Neopets, where so many fan sites and pet pages were dedicated to just what accounts at certain ages could do. Now, there were significantly more restrictions based on how old/new your account was, but there was no central on-site place where it was spelled out back when I was on there regularly.

I'd prefer to have something that's part of the main site, that's easily accessible, and official, detailing what the restrictions are and for how long.

I'm all for this as well. There is that massive FAQ page on the Help and Questions board, but not only is that a lot of info to go through, but it's also not comprehensive and not organized in a method that would specify age-based restrictions. For example, you can find out about the 24-hour post delay in the 'forums' section, and later on in the 'pets' section you can find the age you would have to wait to disown a pet...but it does not also offer the wait time includes direct pet transfers.

You can transfer pets at any account age as far as I know! I haven't tested it recently but that's been done before.

And I support a newbie-faq page, it can be the first thing when you sign up: you can't abandon pets until your account is a month old, you can't make forum posts until your account is 24 hours old. Simple.
