Every couple of days, someone asks on the forums about the shops and what happened to them. Is there a way to put one of those banners on the shops page that you can dismiss that would link you to the new shops guide?

it could read something like

"Looking for your shops? Check out this guide to see what happened to them"

it could probably be better worded, but that's just an example.

It would just be really nice for someone who is returning from a hiatus to go to their shop page, realize their shops are gone, but reading the banner and knowing what to do about it instead of thinking their items are lost forever.

This is a great idea. Or even a little link on the quickstock page too, since that's where many people seem to run across this issue.

ah yeah the quickstock page would be great if people are running it into there too. :) banners on both wouldn't be bad.

I support adding it to the shops page even though the guide is already linked on the news page. It makes sense to put it there.

Support due to what seems like an increase of returning players. The help forum has a few threads with confusion.

I'm extremely surprised that this hadn't been implemented from the beginning. Returning users have no clear way to know what happened or what they need to do now. The sidebar of the news isn't an obvious source of information, especially if they've been away since before the sidebar links were introduced.

I don't know if this is a problem but since it is a user run board this may not happen. The news page is a page that is changed very often. So when staff feels that enough people know about the new shops, they can take it down. The shop page is not changed very often and might be forgotten about. So if the board breaks or something else happens to it, then you are right back to where you started.

I think it may be better to link to the news post about it? Or something more official? Not saying that the board is not great (because it is great) but I think that the shop page should link to something more permanent.

I'm not against it at all. I've helped with the guide so I'm always happy to link it to people. I agree that it should be linked on the shop page. Even, add a blue "event" stating like "You now have legacy shops and galleries. Find out HERE how to move your items to the new shop and galleries." Or something similar peharps?

This would be a good idea! Hmm, but what could we do? makes a good point.

Even though I'm the creator of the guide, I feel like I'm the most unreliable. I'm sorry to everyone who has had to pick up my slack. I didn't realize how bad I was at following up and maintaining things. ;^;

It's not your fault people don't pay attention to the front news pages! It's an awesome guide, I totally thought it was official for the longest time. c:

I support this Suggestion. I always look on the News page, but maybe this is a relatively new thing to look there that a returning user wouldn't know? Or our returning users are not returnees but in fact suborned accounts and so they're super clueless about how Subeta works because they've never played here before ever?

I'm with this does appear to be a problem. I dunno if we always get this many return users or if this is a just-this-summer phenomenon, but I've been seeing a lot of panicked posts too. This was a major change and it would be nice to not panic our prodigal users.

Is 's guide stickied in the forum its in and added to the Useful (whatever forum it is) links? I dunno if these are possible things, but they would be an add ot that too.
