Several people and I were talking about some possible uses for the minions other than attaching to pets or putting in the minion zoo. Here are some of our ideas:

-minions that serve as buffs during pet battles -something where minions can be "sacrificed" in exchange for a chance at a certain event or item. One person suggested something where you put five minions in, and have the chance at getting a much rarer minion out in exchange. -games or events that require a minion to play/enter an area -not separate from the minion zoo, but maybe adding some more structure to the pages to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Uhh...the idea of 'sacrificing' minions to like a machine or something sounds kind of disturbing. :x They're supposed to be living animals.

And because there are so many minions on site, many of which are really cheap (less than 1k sP), requiring one to play a game or enter an area wouldn't present much of a challenge or really make them more useful.

Some minions used to be random battle coliseum buffs, much like it was once in Neopets a decade ago. I totally got my first Hayt to do that. All of them have been repurposed about six years ago, and won't be coming back. I doubt the BAs would even consider asking them to be added to the battle coding, because the whole point of minion-fighting is that it's meant to be NeuroGalaxy/Monkey Island easy. Pet-battling is already quite complex.

You can already sacrifice minions (and anything else, if you're feeling less bloodthirsty) to the Fragmentizer in Darkside. The crystal shop there right now does have rarer minions you can buy with Humming Power Crystals.

In the beta thread for the Zoo, several userfolk have suggested page themes for the Zoo, and staff did not reject this idea.

I feel bad at even deleting minions, but I'd like to point out that we also have brain and finger food items here-- if Subeta were trying to not be disturbing they already failed haha.

I like these ideas but I'm not very much involved in any of them to have strong opinions. I do feel like minions need more use though. It would be nice to have a minion "quest" where you can bring minions to be adopted into the void in exchange for some sort of mini service. Might help reduce the saturation of super super cheap minions.
