So I am thinking of trying Either asylum or hotel. I'm not sure though..Asylum is tricky for me because to be honest I just dont like the possible premise of it. I know the mentally ill were never really treated well back in olden times..many horrors there. So im just curious as to what other people think..do you think I should only try hotel or was Asylum okay?

I'd suggest trying Asylum before Hotel; it's actually pretty creepy at times (tho a smidge confusing, I'm still not entirely certain where some story points really tie in with it) whereas I thought Hotel was just gratuitous porn in all honestly. It really got to a point where I'd just roll my eyes and stopped watching that season. ): I wish I could remember more about the actual content of Asylum, but if you're uncomfortable with the mistreatment of the mentally ill- I'd be pretty careful. The main character does check themselves into the Asylum as a means to shut it down/stop the mistreatment (and face this mistreatment themselves, but she is not mentally ill) so I remember most the shown content being directed at them. Hopefully someone who has seen the season more recently than I can give you better insight on that. Have you watched any of the AHS seasons before? If not, I really suggest watching Murder House! It's hands down my favorite season of them all, very creepy, and being the first season it hadn't drifted into the pure shock value "horror" the later seasons did.

American Horror Story gets worse as the seasons progress. The first two seasons, Murder House and Asylum, are great. I personally enjoyed Coven, but it isn't as strong as the previous seasons. Freak Show wasn't very good imo and I couldn't get past the pilot of Hotel.

I have only seen a few episodes of Asylum (funny story behind that. I forgot to set the recorder for an episode then I just kind of gave up because I wasn't feeling it.) I know people either love it or hate it. Maybe watch the first episode and see how you feel?

As for Hotel, it's just straight up crazy. So much sex and throat silting. I'm an EMT and there were times I was uncomfortable watching it. It did wrap up nicely though. Again, try watching the first episode and see how you feel. It sets the tone for the whole season (violent sex and throat silting). But Lady Gaga is fantastic in it!
