Along with almost everything else on here, I was confused why Fantine's Bakery does not give you an alert when your item is done baking. I'm sure i'm not the only one who was puzzled by this and would love to have the alert option.
Kitchen timers and accurate thermometers in your oven (the one with teh oven is seldom precise enough) will only get you so far in RL baking, you have to have a feel for what you are doing. So from a role-playing aspect I'm resistant to this, part of this game would be you having a feel for when your stuff is ready. Especially since it's magic-baking here and you could leave it in there indefinitely and it just won't burn.
It might be fun (and an sP sink) if Fantine were to politely choke back her condescension that you would need such an item or service, and to offer to alert you if you donate an item or some sP or she sold you directly a timer-item or a magical alert on a per-bake basis. Part of the whole catastrophic burn-mechanism in this baking game is to make Thimble items valuable for other than questbait or Treasure Chests, so giving value to other items that will give you an alert is also a thing (and sometimes they will also break and you will have to buy them again, Because Magic)
