Just recently settled down into giving my pets a very delightful, albeit simple yet tricky, coding for their profiles after about a week of messing around with the code to see which I prefer. So while I'm in the midst of figuring out their own themes, figure I'd see if anyone was interested in letting me practice on working with their idea.

Kacey Atrox and Berenjena show two similar examples of the set up I'm working with so far. I do have the coding, as I was using prior to now, for the "hover/drop down" boxes.

If anyone is interested, just leave a comment with the following:

Comment Form Pet: [Pet name/link to pet] Image(s): [Ex: Overlay, background.] Image Credit(s): [So neither of us get in trouble if you don't own the image used.] Background Color: [If basic background is desired.] Text: [Ex: Pet name, quote, etc.] Sections: [Ex: Story, minion, spotlight, etc. Please note whether you prefer internal links or hover boxes.] Extra: [Ex: Pet minion on background vs a physical spot, or other details you're interested in seeing.]

Pet: Image(s): Image Credits(s): Background Color: Text: Sections: Extra:

Extra Information - What I can do. If not listed, just ask! Pet Image Hover Pet Overlay Transparent Pet Overlay - If provided/easy to edit. Hover Boxes - Pet image, minion, spotlight, story, extra text box, & treasure. Internal Links - Extra text boxes. "Hidden" Scroll Bar Re-sized Treasure "Angled" CSS Boxes Border CSS Boxes

Not Started - Sophie Hatter - Navie

Completed Orion Phazer - Sent out Fennev - Not sent yet Yoshiko - Sent Out

QUICK QUESTION, to those new reading this post, and those checking back for updates. What would you guys think is a good price range for the work I've done? These do surpass "simple" pet profiles by far. Given I tend to spend hours on them.

First off thank you for offering this! Second I'd love to take you up on this for pet Orion.

Pet: Orion Phazer https://subeta.net/petinfo.php?petid=773202 Image(s): http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/1/10/MainGalaxy.png/revision/latest?cb=20130325041255 (<- Use as background image if possible, if the dimensions don't work then any free use galaxy image would be fantastic) http://67.media.tumblr.com/be3a6171109def9c67fa35adb472fe6f/tumblr_o3mnusGbvj1un0o62o1_500.jpg (<- If possible could you put this in the story section?) Image Credit(s): (The one image of the man is my own art so no credit needed and the galaxy art is from the star wars wikia.) Background Color: N/A Text: Orion Phazer (Name) The Reluctant Sith(Tag line) "Hello there, neighbor..." (Quote) Sections: I want the story, minion, pet friends, treasure, and stats sections. Can I get the stats and treasure sections to be hover boxes please? Extra: I don't have the hover image yet for Orion but can you put an extra copy of his regular image on top that I can replace later?

Pet: https://subeta.net/petinfo.php?petid=3433515

Image(s) AND Sources:

[li] Background by Pavel Proskurin: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/observatory

Text:

[li]Arranged much like the Fester, Berenjena. I'd like the name centered above the pet.

Sections:

[li] If you could, I'd like a generic CSS box around everything. I'd like a colored border and rounded edges. Just something to match the theme pallet and perhaps semi opaque.

[li] I'd like it to look a lot like the Fester page in terms of the order of information. Please include a description, treasures, minion and perhaps a place where I could put my own artwork when I get to it.

Extra:

[li] I like the hovering thing.

[li] Perhaps a custom cursor if possible, from cursors-4u.com: http://www.cursors-4u.com/cursor/2011/01/26/transparent-white-star.html

Thank you for your interest! Sorry I'm late in responding. Subeta didn't leave me a notice about your interest. I've recently been making changes to my own pet profiles, so I'm pinging you two to see if you're still interested

I can at least certainly do some fiddling with coding and seeing about the graphics in the meantime. I tend to use my pet Imgur profile to test out my coding/graphics, so you can always pop in and check there to see how things are coming along.

Orion Phazer - Questions Would you want a single area story section or multi-parts? I've recently learned a new trick in coding to have "pages" inside a story section.

And I certainly could give it a shot. Replacing pet images is fairly easy. Assuming you want to keep the same dimensions? To change the size of it, I'd need to know the size you're interested in so I can add the correct bits of code.

Fennev - Questions Have a couple questions as I'm looking at the background. It is quite gorgeous to look at. Already getting ideas.

One, what "size" would you like me to work with? I'm usually keeping my area to work in around 1360 pixels by 760 pixels at max to keep it from scrolling down. The background does cut off on the side, so is there an idea for a background color in mind because of the cut off? Unless you want me to see about expanding it to be a whole encompassing background.

Two, what do you mean by CSS boxes? As in the one we type responses in to make it look more like a computer? Just want to be sure I'll be figuring any bits of art I'll needing to fiddle with so it looks good with the background.

I would love a multi part one. And yes the same dimensions is perfect. Thank you so much!

Got some stuff to do today, but I can certainly start doing some work on placement afterwards. Couple quick notes before I do.

More Questions! How many story sections would you like? Given would they be one long continuation or would each section be it's own "area" so you could go back and forth? Imgur still holds the concept for going forward and back.

And the image you linked for the background is pretty big. Do you still want me to try and work with it or do some galaxy image searching for something fun? Say like little "stars/planets" would be the hover area for pet information. Just tossing ideas out to see your preference. I should be able to get into my art programs and give a sketch of the concept before/after you respond.

Work in the size you are most comfortable with as long as it isn't microscopic. The size you mentioned is fine but if you are hit with a stroke of inspiration, go for it. Same applies to the background. I'm giving you the freedom to play with it and try new things unless you absolutely need an idea.

And by CSS boxes... it's just a word we used in web design class to mean a box generated without using an image. The default setting does something like that, not quite but it's the easiest way to explain.

Background Color: Not necessarily the background itself, but if you change the pet's image background so it blends in with the background itself... more like how you have Berenjena's set up. (you have the different colored backgrounds on Imgur's and Kacey Atrox's profile)

Color wise, I guess it would depend on whether or not each character (or you) like a darker or lighter color better... like for Glashtyn you could do a darker green much like the moss on her horns... or something similar to this (( http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xd/473222463.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=62CA815BFB1CE480F6592EED32B31DCF6ADD405C56CDAC5708F51B6D91AFF855148EA8A14F24DB22)) if you want an actual image. For Irish Gypsy Lunasa you could do a lighter tan or blue color from her body palette... maybe something similar to this but with lighter colors (( http://cdn.mysitemyway.com/etc-mysitemyway/backgrounds/legacy-previews/backgrounds/watercolor-grunge/watercolor-grunge-000031-faded-light-blue.jpg ))

Sections: Perhaps make it so there is a more similar distance between the pet image and the main text section as there is between the text section and the treasure chest. Or make it more obvious that it should be different (eg. move the pet image farther away or don't line it up with everything else).

Extra: I love how you have Khris Licker-Dragon's and Berenjena's image floating! Since they look like they should be flying/floating it definitely adds a little more dimension to the whole profile!

I keep the colored background on those two primarily for the purpose of figuring out the placement of my boxes and pet images. Not going to keep them like that forever. Just until I get the right concept for how I'd like to permanently set them up. In the meantime they're just going to be blank slates.

Thanks for the tips though. ^^

Okie dokie lokie. With that in mind, I can certainly start getting to work.

And I get it now. Small trick of the code that I do believe I can work with. Something similar to the little personal boxes around the treasure items.

Update After some unfortunate events on the 24th, and long hours of tinkering between the 25th and 26th, curious on how think things are turning out so far. I did try to keep the background intact and fit the items into the art of the background to make it fit a bit better.

I do have a temp hover image, one of two I've been using, for Fennev. The current is without the background and flipped to fit better in the current position. The second does have the more galactic background with it. Up to you in whether you'd like to keep one or the other.

Fennev's Current Update

Pet Image/Hover - Done Story - Done Treasure - Done Pet Color/Owner - Done Pet Name - Done Image Box - Done Custom Cursor - Done

Pet Minion - Not Done

I may make small fiddling adjustments later. Leaving it up to you, when you see this, to see if you'd like me to change anything big in the meantime. Like with the color, owner, and name, for example. Tricky bits to get to fit right in coding and in the graphics.

And would you want me to keep the treasure where it is, over the constellation, or move it so it shows when you hover over the beam? I can get them to be at an angle, so the treasure can easily fit into the spot.

You can use some general galaxy images and stars and such yes. As for pages I should need probably four pages and i'd like them to be separate if possible. Thank you so much!

Huzzah! All I really have to do is code in the pet profile spot. I got a good idea for the placement on/near one of the scrolls. Just a bit of blah that the minion isn't transparent, though. And a copy/paste bit of code can have a pet spotlight once you've got the story and treasures all mapped out. Once done, I can send you the code to just drop into your pet's description box.

The demonic books are currently placeholders for your actual images. You just need to replace the images and their links, and you'll be all set there.

Pet: Yoshiko Image(s): http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z32/charmander938/commission_for_hatsune_by_deadsongpie-da3w3ql_zpsjf6be2xu.png Image Credits(s):matt_bellamy Background Color: Matching Text: Yoshiko Sections: Story,Minion,Spotlight, Extra: I would like her name to be in some sort of brushwork font if at all possible If there was any way you could make fog drift in and out of view that would be amazing. I think that would be difficult though. I really want a unique profile for her. I think that having the overlay be a hover would be pretty neat if when hovered the image came into view and got bigger as it gets seen.

My ideas are all over the place

I'm kind of "off the grid" right now meaning no wifi unless I drive out to the local library. I live in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere until the semester starts and I can use the college wifi.

I'll have the story typed out soon but when I'll be online is a different story. I'm going to try between this and the next Sunday.

Pet: - Sophie Hatter - Image(s): here! in the lower right so where it cuts off is fitting? Image Credits(s): official art, studio ghibli Background Color: whatever looks nice! you could use an image as well, if you'd like. sorry to say that, i know it might be frustrating ;; Text: "Sophie Hatter" and subtext "A heart's a heavy burden." Sections: Story, spotlight, minion, and treasure? Extra: i would prefer if everything was in a laid-out type of style? like nothing is hidden and nothing slides!! you have artistic freedom over anything you think would look better/nicer for her!

Fennev Oof. That's tough. No worries on needing to be on though. Just comment here when you're all good on your end and I can send you the coding for Fennev's profile. I'll be having it saved over into a document all safe and cozy for you. ^u^

Yoshiko Crazy ideas are not a bad thing nor them being all over the place. Dunno about the fog. I can certainly see about finding a nice transparent gif and do some test runs.

Lovely pet image, by the way! And I assume with the over overlay, or rather the picture of your pet herself, that image is the one you'd want to "zoom in" on? I think I know a coding trick or have seen one before, to get something of the sort.

Do you have ideas for the layout itself? Like the placement of where you'd like things to be? You can see the examples of my "internal links" if you're interested in having everything be in one general boxed area versus multiple ones.

Sophie Hatter First, Ghibli pet! Eee!

Second, what size screen are you working with? It'll help me figure the placement out with the rest. I do believe I know a simple piece of code that should "always" keep the image in the corner of the screen no matter the size. Just want to make sure the other boxes are not going to be hiding it or anything else in the background if it isn't a pure solid color.

Third, you mean as in having everything just go "down" as it would on a normal pet profile or like I do on my own pet's? The rest of their text/treasure is simply hidden until you scroll over them. I just find it more pleasing on the eyes, but that is just me.

Orion Phazer Haven't forgotten about yours! With Fennev's done, I can get to work on Orizon's profile next. Your Kumos will truly be in space in time. :3

1440 x 900! and yes, i'd like if everything were to be visible right when you go to her page ; v; also!! if you have a pet image [not saying it's required!] i'd prefer if it was a glade neela, instead !! i plan on changing her!

Alrighty then! Good to note since I usually work in 1360x760. I've got a large screen, which is what I usually see pet pages go around or less in the width. Larger ones do risk the corner artwork vanishing to the right. Fortunately the image does give me room to work with in the area behind Sophie.

I'll have to do a little bit of checking into the movie, mostly in terms of if I can't get the image to stay static, I'll need something "beneath" to work with. Especially if the story/treasure are going to take the page down past the bottom of the page. If I can get my art program to play nice and sort of make it kind of a scenic trip down the hill, persay. Something sort of like this, but perhaps upside down, like a camera panning. If that makes sense.
