So I racked up a nice heap of experience from battle quests and decided to spend roughly 1m exp today. In the middle of this, it dawned on my stupid face that opening a couple hundred of tabs and closing them quickly isn't a great and efficient way to spend battle exp. Not for me, not for the servers, not for anybody.

So I suggest this: let us assign the extra stat points similar to how one does it in damn near all RPG games.

Too lazy to throw up Photoshoop and get a proper example, so I'm going to be a fart and overcomplicate it with an equally lazy example. Half-assed example image is up! REJOICE! Also, a very important PSA - Photobucket is shit.

Hit the plus next to each stat, it raises the "experience to spend" counter and shows how many exp points you have assigned. If you hover over the plus, it tells you how much exp that particular stat point costs.

Assign your stats however you like, double-check compared to current stats, submit. Bang. One page. Minimal siteload. Streamlined. Sorted.

[edit] Editing to include fixes for hitting a new tier (ty for reminding me of this being a thing!)

The site would stop you once you get to the limit, alerting you that you've hit the tier on the page and that you need to submit the current stats before you can continue.

Or a notification/counter before you go spend your stat points? "You have XYZ stat points available before the next battle tier!" Possibly linking to a FAQ detailing more about tiers and whatnot for anyone who's new to battling and wants to learn more.

[edit] Thank you for suggesting a minus button! I am a flake and I forgot that reloading the whole page if you mis-click once would suck, especially if you're mass-spending exp.

I wouldn't be against this, but you can just keep on clicking a stat - it will reward the experience each time. Like when you click health ten times you bought it ten times and got ten health points.

It reloads the page every time you click the link, doesn't it?

What I'm suggesting wouldn't reload the page until you hit the Submit button.

You just gotta click faster, if you double click anything it'll load slower and you can count the clicks that you need. But again, I'm not against your suggestion. Just saying that you can use the current system without overloading it by opening hundreds of tabs.

Ah, I get what you mean now! Had a brainfart on my end, sorry 'bout that. :P Thanks for that tip!

I would love to see your idea get realized though, it'd be super useful and much quicker/easier! 😊

This is why I spend my EXP more or less on the day I earn it. Why would you need or even desire to open hundreds of tabs?

Because I'm a masochist and I wasn't aware of that little trick that Riedy mentioned? :P I'm kind of still wary of using it because I don't know if the site would glitch during the spam-clicking and accidentally award double stats like it did with event currencies in some past events.

Serious talk - for me, it feels more rewarding to spend all that exp at once and get a huge stat boost than just deal with a slow stat trickle. Personal preference.

Besides, they want to streamline the site and make it less load-heavy and whatnot. This would be a great addition to the list.

it won't award double stats afaik but sometimes you can get into negative exp and buy too many stats from spam clicking. then you need to fight a couple extra battles so you're caught up. I wouldn't mind an easier way to spend it though.

That actually sounds like a great idea for making it easier to buy more stats with exp. Usually I just use the trick that mentioned but that trick certainly has its limits, especially if I'm trying to train my stats to a certain point. But I can definitely see how something like this would make buying stats from exp much more streamlined.

While I'm like and spend my EXP each day, I can definitely see how this could be really helpful to people who like to hit a certain number before they beef up their pets.

The only issue that I can foresee would be - what if, while adding the points, you end up in the next tier? Would it just stop you once you hit the stat # that'll push you over, so you have to submit and then continue after the page refreshes with the new amounts?

I support this 100%, just curious about that one thing!

That's a really good point! I haven't considered that. It's been a while since I've gone up in tiers with my main battle pet and I don't train any other pets. I completely spaced out on that. :'D

I think your workaround would be good!

I would LOVE an XYZ points until the next tier counter. I am also all for this suggestion.

yes, absolutely. it's also kind of ridiculous that we can't actually SEE our pet's stats on the spend exp page! i hate having to open the pets page in a separate tab just to know how to allocate his exp.

Yes, 100% support here.

you can also open the training center, which loads faster. But that is still another page to be opened, and agree it should be on the exp page.

the amount of time it takes to get there is about the same as the amount of time it takes to load the pets page for me. it's not about the loading times, it's about the fact that i have to have another page open.

I usually refresh a few times to see where I'm at... So while it takes the same time to load the three pages to get to the training room as it does the pets page... It takes a significant amount less to refresh it.

This is a great idea!! I use my EXP as I get it - but if it were easier to use larger batches I'd probably change my ways :)

I found some effort in my drawers while cleaning yesterday and I used it to make a half-assed example graphic. Yay!

It looks blurry because Photobucket is shit and I'm too lazy to look into imgur.

Looks good so far! I feel like there should be a minus button added as well, like the token trading page, incase you accidentally hit one too much. c:
