my guess is that it was a mistake back when he was first created (sagittarius is a hard one to spell for sure) and when it was realized, they decided to just leave it that way because he was already an established character and maybe it would have been weird to just suddenly change the spelling?

It's a character's name... That's how his name is spelled, it's not wrong...

I've just been assuming it's supposed to be spelled differently from the constellation/zodiac sign on purpose, as a name, but who knows.

Yeah I figured if it was misspelled it was left that way on purpose, I was just wondering if originally it wasn't supposed to be. Not sure who might have insight into that.
