FIRST OF ALL SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT GO WATCH IT AND DON'T READ THIS!

I haven't finished it yet but I know how its going to end. I had the plot spoiled for me. I'm already crying about it. I'm gonna be a mess by episode 22. About the anime so far, I just love how the whole thing is a work of art, from the literal art work, the music, the characters and even the way they talk is so poetic. Love it! I love how it portrays emotions of the characters. Really makes them come alive. Who's your favorite character?

Don't sue me, but I can only watch English dubbed anime. I don't enjoy it if I have to speed read subtitles. I'm NOT a reader, I don't have the patience to read AND watch. Lol. Respect for people who do watch the actual Japanese, cuz I sure can't. I don't know Japanese at all. I really wish I was bilingual in Japanese and English.

One thing I don't get about the anime, is why everyone's so easy on Kosai's mother. I mean she beats him repeatedly in freaking public. Poor little Kosai has to pull his sleeves down to cover bruises. I mean. Where the hell are the child services? I understand shes dying and all but so is Kaori shes nowhere near as mean or brutal...(sorry if I misspelled names) Also in the hospital when shes dying shes like what if Kosai gets hurt. I'm like dude, you hurt him already why would you care?

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the series? Also, please ping me if you reply cuz I cant stay here forever waiting for someone to come. Thanks!

I watched Your Lie In April a few weeks ago! I agree it was beautiful, I really enjoyed watching a pretty, youthful anime like that. I love animation that's full of sunshine, it's so beautiful. The music aspect was well done I thought. And I don't always click with stories about teens these days, but I felt like this one seemed honest and true. I liked all the four main characters a lot.

I am 100% in agreement about everyone being too easy on Kosai's mom. She was an abuser, having reasons and mental health issues doesn't excuse her for emotionally and physically abusing her son. The story still wanted to make Kosai chose a forgiveness path instead of processing and healing, when he didn't have to forgive her at all in order to move on. And then they make the blonde girl a stand in for his abusive mother- she is pushy and forceful just like his mom, and also terminally ill as well- at one point Kosai literally said "don't leave me like my mother did!" and I thought, this is the opposite direction this show should go, he should recognize he is falling into the same patterns. It was really strange! Every female character who got close to him had issues respecting his boundaries, he was very rarely in control of his own decisions.

Otherwise, a good anime. I thought the struggles of teens transitioning to the next level of school was really relateable. I remember feeling like my whole future would be decided based on all those exams and what I picked to do after graduating. I felt for them a lot.

And yeah, very sad at the end. I didn't know what to expect, but it left an impact on me.

: I didn't have the ending spoiled perse, I merely figured out the gist of how it would end like halfway through. Then I just stopped watching it because it's so depressing but at the same time I feel bad for stopping because it really is a masterpiece of an anime. >.>
