So many people are scrambling, threatening to quit, cursing the admins'/programmers' names, and flinging shit more than an angry monkey with diarrhea.
Not me. I have faith in the admins and this new fix. I can say, from personal experience, that these large shops/galleries were bogging down the site. When I purchased an item from some of the larger shops, it would sometimes take several minutes to load. And even then, some of the time, I would get an error message, rather than the purchase going through. That was a complete headache. Especially when doing Wizzy quests, where your reward hinders on how quickly you get the items back to him!
Now, the limit is a bit of a pain in the butt. I can understand that. But it isn't honestly that bad. For example, if you have a gallery with a lot of items (more than 4k), you can make five galleries, and link them all to one another, with a simple code! It'd be no different than having the extra pages.
But that's only if you have a GA! you scream. Well, that's a fair point. But it isn't hard at all to make sP on this site. I make 4-6mil daily from quest givers (sometimes more, depending on who's WQ), and that isn't even counting the items they give me to sell!
Not to mention the fact that the staff are constantly giving us 1 Week GAs, as free gifts. Not to mention the fact that you can choose a free, three month GA with the loyalty totem.
So, nah. This isn't that bad. People are blowing this way, way, waaaaaaay out of proportion, and I feel so bad for the staff that have to feel the full brunt of this.
also if this is in the wrong section, i'm sorry OTL
I've done something of a 180 on the whole thing. I'm finally offloading items I've let stagnate in my usershops and raking in sP as a result, and that alone has convinced me that this has been a fantastic implementation. In three days I've made roughly 40 million in sales. The closest I came to matching that was years ago when the legendary combos were actually worth something and I offloaded one for 36 million in one day. I knew the small items could add up but this is just incredible right now. I'll make far less when we're down to the 250 shop limit- at first- but I'll still be able to offload items obtained from questing and more, even if I have to just start fragging the lot of them.
Good news! I'm glad to hear that. :'D It really isn't as horrible as people are making it out to be. And this isn't something that only a handful of users take advantage of - almost everyone uses a shop and or gallery, so I have a feeling they're going to be much more prompt in getting the higher numbers out.
This is how I feel about it too really. Especially when the limit gets raised. If it is high enough, many people won't even notice the difference except maybe with smoother, more reliable server performance.
Yup. Exactly. I'm not at all concerned for Subeta. And, quite honestly, I really don't see why people are getting so bent out of shape about all this. You don't need a gallery with almost 50 thousand items in it to enjoy Subeta. I'm frankly eager for all of this to be over and done with, so we can get back to normal, and this can all blow over.
I guess people feel discouraged because they spent a lot of time working on them and now they're limited, but I doubt very many people look through other people's galleries as it is. I probably couldn't even load most of the larger galleries on the site. I understand why people are upset to some extent. I do think a lot people are starting to come around and understand it though, so I think in time it won't be as big of a deal as it seems to be now
P R E A C H.
Also, your HA is very magical and makes me warm.
please send me any/all and so I can keep them safe
Well, I can partially understand that. But, truth be told, I see a lot of people complaining that they can't show off the gifts that they've been given, and stuff like that, but why they feel that they need to show that off kind of escapes me. Like, I get that they want the person or people to know they appreciate it, but wouldn't a simple 'thank you' in a comment suffice?
Hahaha! Thank you! C:
Yeah I totally agree with you. To me, showing off gifts I've been given isn't the point of being given a gift, and I wouldn't necessarily want someone to show off something I've given them. I'd rather they use it. But if they want to show it off I don't really care, but it doesn't need a permanent display.
I know I'm downsizing my gallery and just keeping things I really love. But I know I won't make the move until the limit is raised a bit.

I agree people are just over-reacting, but a lot of people resist change. It'll all work out in the end :)

I've been opening Subeta so infrequently over the past couple months due to the multitude of errors plaguing the servers (and being too busy with work, but that's beside the point). This is such a good change! Sure, I'm one of those people who has a large gallery and has escalated the problem over time due to continuing to add items to it...
BUT NOW. NOW I CAN USE MY ITEMS FOR BETTER THINGS THAN A SILLY ACHIEVEMENT!
Oh my pets and collections are gonna love me :D
I definitely have to agree that this is a good change that's desperately needed. Sure I have a gallery with over 10k items in it, but that's only because I've been working towards the 15k achievement. Once I finish (or would have finished) that, I had every intention of removing most of the items and only keeping what I wanted. Sure galleries are great and all, but I agree with : how many people actually sit and take the time to view the many pages of a person's gallery? They're mostly for the person who made them to enjoy everything they've gotten over the years/their time on the site.
Hot damn moving these items to collections is gonna take a LONG TIME /dies
i understand people are overreacting for the big change. i do too. but that all in the past for me. can't wait to see the result!
i personally not a fan of viewing large gallery, or even large TC. on my side, it sucks huge amount on internet data limit and slows down my computer. which is why i have "block subeta image magic button" on my computer. things are much worse on mobile.
I'm happy with this. Site functionality outweighs everything else and I can't say it's easy to give credence to panicked people who can do little more than speculate since they aren't privy to Subeta's technical workings.

I don't really know whats going on, but it cant be worse than Gaia's "Geemoji" thing right now. I'm here, not there. A change in the galleries and shops doesn't seem like something to allow yourself to get upset about. It's permanent and sounds helpful in the long run.
